Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to clean up an engine bay without having to pressure wash it to get all of that oil and dirt out!

Cheers

Steam cleaner.

breaks all the oil and grese up

Question is, why would you want to remove lubricant??

If its just for asthetics, then bit of Brillo Cleaner Degreaser on the areas you want degunking.

I use autoglym stuff :) And also got some poorboys all purpose cleaner, it says on the bottle whitewall cleaner or something, but it does it, squirt on, leave to dwell, scrub with a brush, Then just steam clean it

I use a chemical guys de-greaser in a trigger bottle, spray it on and leave for 10 minutes then spray off and wipe down. Back to black on all the black bit's and jobs a good one.

like cloud said a degreaser sprayed on and then work it in with a brush, cover any electrics up, i use cling film on bits or a plastic bag with some elastic bands, then pressure wash or hose off and use WD40 on the black plastic bits, i find it last a lot longer than back to black stuff

i just use some cheap engine degreaser with a brush to work the stuff into the dirt. then using a very fine spray rinse down then wipe over with a cloth. afterwards i spray with a cheap cockpit shine.

Gunk is a quality engine cleaner. its what i used to do mine the other week. halfords sell it. think its about £4.99.

lol, i cant be bothered to do my own most of the time lol...yeah gunk is a good degreaser, but to be honest i just used a really cheap shitty degreaser and even that worked a treat. Just got to rub the stuff in proper!

The 1st time takes a little longer, but after you've done a big engine detail its piss after, as the engine bay just really gets dusty.

Dont forget to cover the electrics. otherwise your car wont start or run crap (a squirt of wd40 up the ht lead is a gd cure in the event of this happening hehe)

£5.02.. and i'll buy materials ;) haha...
Yeah might try that then, will cover a few bits up and gunk it... probably jetwash it off too, mine's pretty grubby.. didn't do it before i got the car back on the road as there was new paint all over the wing etc..
Might get out there over the weekend... will have to see! lol...
