Ok so i'd like to know what the 4 x 45w means on my head unit? I'm thinking of getting a new one, any reccomendations?
Is 4 x 50w much better?

its the internal amp mate, gives out 45 watts max to each speaker, its more than likely to be around 15 watts to each speaker though as you should go off the RMS power ratings
a 4x50 watt headunit wont be much better mate, if your wanting better sound buy an amp and some components up front, what headunit do you currently have??

I'll give a thumbs up for Pioneer head units. Mine is fantastic - can do soooo much with it:y: (DEH-P9800BT by the way)

you wont get a decent dvd player for 150 unless you look on ebay, id refrain from getting one tbh, ive got one and never honestly use it, just a novelty and it was cheap at the end of the day
at the minute this headunit is on offer, and is what id have

Yer i like those, i prefer the blue look one tho tbh...
How does it all work then? i know the amp takes the signal from the HU but what splits the signal to the sub and other speakers so they are all playing the right stuff?

how does what work??
the only cables from headunit to amps are the RCA/Phonoe leads and the remote lead :y:
