why dont you wire the leds up to the boot light mate or the boot light switch, bot the same tbh
this way they would only come on with the boot open and last a lot longer :y:

does the led have a adaptor that has some info on the back of the voltage etc??
id use the same fuse as what the boot light is on, so a 20 amp :y:
fuse holders are cheap enough too and could just save your car from a fire

get a fuse on mate for sure it might be ok from the wire from the fusebox but if theres a fault from the bootligh/switch then it will bugger up the leds
