New To the sax -car and my accident-

Hi guys just a quick hello and to say what a fantastic forum this is !.

I have just put a deposit on my new car saxo Vtr 53 Reg for £2625 comes modified slightly and with a private plate included :)

I am only buying a new car because i lost my £6500 corsa sxi+ on friday when the abs-brakes failed and i hit 3 walls and i wasnt driving like a prat , legal team is now involved and trying to sue vauxhall.

hi thanks for the welcome was a nasty crash yea the pics dont make it look bad i didnt take them i was out cold , i was taken away in the blue and 2's , i am just verry sore and have a brase on my back for a week or two.

Just gut renching i am only 17 and worked hard for that car £6500 is alot of cash to lose as i was only 3pft and worked my way up.

I think the saxo i have just got is well worth the money cheap as chips i think its a 53 plate with 47k and its a middle aged chap so its not been hammerd.

Got a few plans for it yet :)

That accident looks a bit nasty there matey! Glad your on the mend. The new saxo looks very nice indeed. I hope you do manage to get some compensation from Vauxhall for the abs/brakes fault.

Thanks guys yea few plans , i want a manifold and airfilter to boost perfomance , i have seen a saxo enar me that bombs it up and down and it pops like mad sounds so sweet :)

i recommend bmc filter or green cotton, gmc,piper,raceland or supersprint manifold! and exhaust piper!

Anything less than 5 years old or worth more than 5k (I think) has to be fully comp doesn't it?

I managed to get a quote to insure a DC5 worth 14,000 tpft...

i had a £2200 car that i sold for £3500 and then got another one and worked up they never said anything when i reinsured a new car.

Its my loss and i am gutt'd :(

Its not , at the top its a hill and a bend that gets sharper and sharper , i managed to get it round but as soon as i did it weaved and threw me into a wall which i bounced from side to the other side :(

Whilst having some measure of sympathy for the OP, I do wonder about the grounds for legal action regarding the alleged failure of the ABS. Did the ABS fail "right side", ie by failing to activate thereby only giving the standard braking force, or did it fail "wrong side" either activating when not under braking load or causing an unequal brake activation?

A right side failure would, to the best of my knowledge, AIANAL, would give the OP no legal grounds as ABS is not a safety critical device and any competent person would say that you were driving beyond either your capabilities or beyond those of the prevailing conditions.

A wrong side failure would be a more serious failure, and Vauxhall (via the SMTT) should be arranging an urgent recall.

Please remember that ABS is only an adjunct to safety, not a replacement for driving within your limitations.

Glad to hear you alive; The corsa is nice, the saxo is nicer- you will get more fun out of it and at the same time you will have lost know street cred as they hold similar prestige i think.

Grane road , named one of the worst roads in the uninted kingdom ,
