bad connection somewhere

as said check the fuses, on the amp, and power lead, if the headunit is firing up then cant be that fuse, do you have a multimeter to check to see if theres any power coming through the remote and the power lead??

there is a box on your power lead under your bonnet open it up and check that one

just use a multimeter, tehre only about 5 pound to buy on ebay and come in so handy, once you get it ill tell you how to use it, its just to see if your getting any power through the leads

I have just had same problem and fixed by attaching earth to the nut that holds the rear light in on drivers side. Sorted

shouldnt really use that mate, its not a very good earth as its a plastic nut that goes over it, and i dont like putting any wires near headlights

if you lift up the rear bench there is an idea place to mount the earth wire as there are thread posts that are weld to the floor pan, just scratch of the paint and bolt down the earth cable

Mate I had this yesterday when I installed my amp. Connect the REMOTE cable to the YELLOW cable in the back on the headunit, instead of the blue. Works a treat mate.

Let me know if it works.

Well, i thought of that, however I made sure I put a washer between the cable and the plastic nut (also to keep it in place), but it does the trick, rear light works fine, amp works fine. :y:

i have sorted mine. it was my remote wire!

usually either the ground/earth or the remote cable

Had problems with the ground points on the last two installs and just hammered in a new bolt and made sure it was solid on top of bare metal and the installs been mint since then, seatbelt bolts and that arent the best places to ground to

All I did was crimp the blue remote wire to the yellow wire in the head unit and it worked a treat.

I had same problem and tried everything. Then I remembered that I did this before and it worked straght away.

Let me know how it goes when you get the removal tools.

Cheers
