I have a blue saxo VTR and have just had new bumpers fitted which have been resprayed BUT as its new paint on the bumpers compared to the cars paintwork, the bumpers are much darker.

Does anyone have a solution to make the cars paintwork match the bumpers paintwork????

Thanks

Will that bring it to match mate? I got a blue saxo like yours. Cheers

Have you tried a colour restoring polish? A porter cable and a decent polish should see the paint improve

It will bring it to a point where it looks like it's just been resprayed, trust me.

Look on Detailersworld... And i'd suggest maybe some poorboys goodies... Maybe, not sure... Mine was done for me.

Poorboys ftw, as said already look on detailersworld and have a chat to a few people on there as they know their stuff and will be able to get you the best products

judging from your description, it sounds like its not a decent colour match and no amount of buffing will bring the colour closer as its not swirl marks that are the problem. you could try buffing but all that will do is make the paint shinier and glossy.

Sounds like a bad colour match by the bodyshop, if so theres nothing you can do other then get them resprayed by a better bodyshop

Cant afford a re-spray. Its because my car has faded and the bumper is alot newer. Im gonna get the bodyshop to try and blend it in,

its either the wrong paint colour, too many coats on as the more paint you put on the darker it gets

or could of used the wrong primer/basecoat

could always try wetsanding with some 2500 grit paper and then using a pc on the panels that havent been recently painted

once sanded with 2500... go for some cutting compound like g3..... also meguires make a good job as well that should improve a fair bit! but we all have our own methods;)

Ok Cheers guys. I understand what your saying about the colour match BUT the bottom half of my car matches the colour of the bumpers but the top half is slightly lighter. Im guess that the top half which is the boot, bonnet and around the windows has faded but thr bottom half hasn't.

Is turtlewax colour restorer any good?

I used turtlewax safe cut with an electric polisher last night which made it nice and shiny but the colour is still lighter on the top half.
