really dont like vibe stuff but this amp will do the job

im using one of these for my subs and its top notch, will have to be wired at 4ohms

or this, wired at 2 ohms, and all depends if the subs have 4 posts on them instead of two

or you could always go for 2 mono amps

Personally mate Vibe stuff is not the best you can get for your money. They're a budget brand with a mid range price tag. You would do a lot better going with 2 JBL GT4 12s rather than the Black Air's. You can get 2 for £56 delivered, that's £140 cheaper than the Vibe's and they will generate a lot more volume and sound clearer.

When buying subs on a cheapish budget the main focus seems to be to get as much volume as possible, it's usually not a huge priority to gain the best sound quality available. So I am assuming that your main priority is to achieve the loudest set-up you can get for your money, (correct me if i'm wrong). For the £100 that you have to spend on the Vibe's you get a miserable 7.5mm xmax and around 400w RMS power handling (I have tested a Black Air II, and they don't like being fed more than 400w RMS). Now for £28 the GT4 has a safe maximum power handling of around 500w RMS and a decent 12.5mm xmax.

Xmax is the linear excursion. How far the cone can move when being played, the larger the xmax, the more volume that can be obtained (usually), of course box design plays a large part aswell. The likes of the RE Audio XXX can achieve an astonishing 54mm, hence their volume capabilties.

For the money there is no better budget sub than the GT4, and with the saving that you would have made from the Vibe's you would have just short of £300 to spend on an amp and other equipment/accessories.

Sub' Amplifier: JBL GTO1201.1 (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2956.html)

The above 2 would be my choice if I was on your budget. It'll then leave you £100 with which you could spend on decent wiring and accessories. This is the link to the deal for the GT4, "Box of 2 JBL GT4-12 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220135425437&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX_Stores&refitem=220126713343&itemcount=4&refwidgetloc=closed_view_item&refwidgettype=osi_widget)", it's a great deal and he has sold more than 400 GT4s in less than a month so they're going quick.

For you or any other members that are contemplating a new sub, or perhaps their first sub, take a look at this. It is a single GT4-12 in a ported box, running off of a small 200w RMS. Now imagine what 2 would do off of 1100w RMS. For just short of £300 the performance is incredible value for money. Or you could go for the even cheaper option, instead of the 1201.1 get the 75.4 (http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/2911.html) and give each sub 300w RMS instead of 550, that cost all together £150.

Ok thanks for your inputs guys, yeah have seen those JBL in action previously and was quite impressed. As you said the Vibe stuff isnt too good for the money it was just a recomendation i got from someone else.

I like the idea of the GT4 Subs + GTO AMP.

Whilst were on the line of JBL stuff. Are their components very good? Or should i just stick to the bostons that have been recomended?

The JBL components aren't bad, but they're very harsh on the ears, they do have some good volume capablities but the treble does iritate your ears after a while. I would only recommend the JBLs if someone would not raise there budget to the Bostons, in my view for the extra £40 or so the Bostons would be the best choice.

Also you may want to consider the Rainbow SLX230 (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/rainbow-slx230-p-3855.html) components, slightly warmer sound than the Boston's but some say the Boston's are a little more detailed. Both are great speakers though.
