I'm in a bit of a dilemma at the moment. Thing is, with my A-level results day coming up (16th august) this will determine whether i get into university or not.

if i was to get into Uni then i'm not sure whether to keep my car or not. i've put quite a bit of money into it with all the modifications i wanted and installing the speakers etc and its in realy good condition with 50,000 miles so a really healthy car.

the course i want to do is a 4 year course, so after i have finished Uni, my insurance would have dropped greatly, leaving me with the option of being insured on perhaps a VTR or VTS (i have a 1.4 westcoast at the moment)

if i was to keep my car through uni it would be stuck on the drive for 4 years (apart from the summer) which i dont know how often i would be at home to drive it.

taking it to university is not really an option as sheffield hallam is REALLY busy and parking is a problem there!

and if i keep it through uni, it would be worth a great deal less than it is now!

any advice?! sorry about the essay! lol

cheers

lol essays not a prob mate!

personally i wuold sell it as costs while at uni along with running a car will break you down financially, especially if you are saying that it is going to be sittin on the drive for most of the time, i would sell it, and use the money (sensibly) to get through uni

Not saying doing this, just my personal preference. Do what you think is best :y:

Sell it, saxos are shit!

"This has been my pride and joy for the last year..."
"It has never let me down..."
"It is a reluctant sale! No words can explain how much I do not want to see this car go"

obviously you think so ;)

perfect answer from BBL its the logical thing to do!!!

think of it this way you go to uni then leave with amazing qualifications then get an awesome paying job and get a way faster/safer car lol ;)

RESULT lol

well...i would keep the car, re-apply to uni the year after and hopefully get a job, or apprenticeship so i would do better at uni when i got there also :)

"This has been my pride and joy for the last year..." It has
"It has never let me down..." It hasn't
"It is a reluctant sale! No words can explain how much I do not want to see this car go" Tiz true

But they are shit, french, plastic waste!

I'm in a similar situation... I want to go uni, and come out of it with enough qualifications to earn some alright wage. If I keep the sax it will just rot and take up garage space at home. If I keep it and take it to uni then, well i'd be even skinter than the skintest of students.

Depends on your situation though :)

Or u can do a year in industry on the subject you're interested in, so when u apply for uni next year there is more chance of getting accepted

check out the "year in industry" site for more info

sell it mate, as you said it will be sitting on the drive and wont be used. get yaself a cheap lil moped or something as using the buses will be shit. and plus with a moped there will be no traffic and parking is free everywhere :y:
