How old are ya mate?

edit- just noticed your 17.....VTS @ 17 could get messy........no one would insure you....plus if you do it under your dads name and you are actually main driver.........you crash.....no payout

Westcoast isn't a 1.1...it's a 1.4i :err:

I wouldn't get a VTS as your fast car dude, will be too powerful, get a VTR for the first year to get NCB and if you still like saxo's then get a VTS :)

Yeah i echo what adam said, get something that aint a 1.6, keep it for 2 years or so then get a VTR or VTS

**ADVICE**

AS a first time driver and your first car, you dont wanna be doing speeds that a vts does let a lone a vtr, so dont be racing your mates vts mate, you'll just ditch it ! vts's are very quick to those who have been driving years, let alone as a first car ! stick to a 1.1. lol.

I was 17 with a VTR insured on my own policy.. tbh if your not a nob it does not matter. I was pointing out he will be lucky to get insured on a VTS for a first car with 0ncb for a reasonable price.. Im going to assume he's also under 21. If he's not im in le wrong.

Get a Westcoast, with the money you save on insurance/petrol do it up real nice. VT looks for a LOT less running costs. Get a few years NCB under you belt and then you can think about something faster.

meh i dont see a problem with someone having a VTS at 17 if they can afford it and dont get an insane quote.
(anything over 2k is insane imo)

agreed.

but soulless when you have just passed your test theres just no need for the power of the vts is there, and if you get tempted one day and floor it,. tbh you'll end up ditching it, imo you just dont have the experience of roads and power when you've just passed your test. hence the insane insurance, its just not worth it

Iv got a vtr as my first car and tbh mate its more than powerful enough, beleive me you will get tempted to boot it, everyone does. But i would imagine in a vts it would be far far easier to bin it after putting your foot down. Go for the vtr at first mate till you get used to roads and power of the car.

ive got a vtr and its plenty powerful enough especially if your only just drivin! get a smaller engine and use the money your saving on insurance to get some nice mods at least til you have some NCB and experience xx

well thanks everyone for your opinons ive read through them carefully, ive decided to stick with a vtr, vts does sound a bit like a monster. ill stick with a vtr for couple years get some NCB thanks very much dai.
mods aint a problem september ill be starting an aprenticship at £800 month so hopefully my vtr will be the dogs bollax when im finished !!
any ideas for cheap mods ?

Drop it 40mm defo lol then decide what sort of theme you want to go with for it such as a stealthy kind of theme i.e. smoked lights etc.

Just don't pour a tub of super strength super glue all over it and drive it through Halfrauds ;).

v v true,
but a year down the line when your fed up of a 1.1s looks and performance, least its there for when you want it.

totally agree with you though
