sluggish vtr Rreg throttlle response slow

hi had this prop for a while now the car seems very sluggish low rev and the throttle responce is slow to only reason relised this is me brother has just bought a vtr and his responds so much quicker.mods done to engine r a cat back stainless and cone filter with cold air feed.p.s.car pinks a little to when loading throttle up.any help would be great

Im having the same problem with my W Reg Saxo mate!!
It's proper doing my swede in!! Not managed to identify what it is exactly yet but it is worth changing the spark plugs and seeing if that helps!!

Other things to consider are the coil pack and the sensors (So i am told).
There is a thread from me further down the list and it seems as though this problem is not uncommon!!
