you get caught, you get done.

no matter what anyone says, i had the same problem.... safest thing to do is get one of them 24hr breakdown people to take it back for you on a lorry.

To be fair i'd knock off the money its going to cost you to get more tax, you shouldn't have to pay more.

Don't risk it.

bear in mind tax has just run out on alota cars so theres more chance of tax checkers,

its either just actually wait until you get your insurance note then pick it up and tax it
get it toed home but u still cant leave it on a public place
or risk it and if u get caught dont come crying

dont do it online. because even if you tax it but dont have the plate you get points and fine, iv asked about this before i was in the same situation, if you do it online then its fine with the dvla to be legal, but not to be seen around on public roads as thats against police rules, and itl take a while to get the disc online specially with royal mail at the mo

its legal for you to drive with no tax disc on the odd occasion if you get pulled you state a reason why, and they wouldnt fine you, however if its parked on a public road they will..

haha,

police can do you for non diplay even if its taxed. There may be the odd occasion when the police let it go if they are in a good mood but its far from legal.

To be telling some1 "its legal on the odd occasion" is laughable. sorry:n:
