Started a little velating to get some extra penny's. doing it for my brother and his business partners.

Going to wash off with autogly, then wax with autoglym resin, then deep gloss with autoglym deep gloss...

Also..

Vacuum inside, back to black all trim etc...

SO a full in and out clean, what would be reasonable to charge, considering it will take me roughly 3-4 hours per car?

Most places charge about £45-£50 for a full valet. So I'd say somewhere near that.... especially as you are supplying the quality branded cleaning products.

Chris :)

Mate... I would charge slightly more for 4x4's if I was you as they will take up a lot of your time and cleaning products..... say another fiver on top.

He may lean against the car and scratch it, or press to hard on a wing mirror and snap it off etc.

I know mate, its her and the miss's i'm doing it for, i'm after a second property as a retirement fund, struggling to get a deposit together so going into valeting, i've just ordered some graphics for advertising on rear window of the astra, it will just be evenings and weekends for now, but if i can manage to earn more than 1600 pound per month from valeting i will knock my everyday job on the head and do this full time.

I'm lucky with the list above on location, loads of room to work around the cars, I'm aiming to do both x5 and 5 series tonight within 4 hours...

Should just manage it!

I'm guessing you have a building that you do all this in as it wouldn't be an all year round job if it's out in the open.

Plus, can you guarentee these people will want there cars valeted often enough for you!?!?!

Well my brother owns a metal merchants, has a big yard and massive building, so if worse come to worse then yeh i can get a building to do them in...

Guarentee's....well, i'm sure thats in the balance of my perfomance this week, i've got some good cars which are all pretty new, as long as i achieve good results and my customers are happy then i'm sure work will get repetative, when i finish the bm's tonight i will ask him when it wants booking in again and so on, we'll see....i'll keep ya posted Chris.

Plus word of mouth should get me plenty more, I've just picked up another x5 and honda cr-v for saturday morning!

You should take before and after pics of all of the cars and make a portfolio up, so that people can come along and see some of your previous work. You could make a website up and put the pics on there too.

Sounds like a good plan though Ryan and good luck with it Mate.

How close it Rotherham to Kent?? :y:

All in all i feel i did a good job, very time consuming on the 4x4 and altered rate to 50 sheets for them, 40 just isn't enough, the chap has re-booked in for 3 weeks time, so i'm happy!
