One of the front door speakers has'nt worked for ages so after drilling out the rivets and checkin it was just the speaker at fault (thankfully it was) I've decided to upgrade to the following: -
Dynamat 2x (front door versions)
Kenwood KFC-PS130 (link) (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/kenwood-kfcps130-p-4170.html)
or
Pioneer TS-E1376 (link) (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-tse1376-p-3143.html)
These are at the top end of my budget & I'm not looking at fitting any subs or amps :y:
Hope someone can offer some advise as I am a little clueless when it comes to speakers.

PS: I'm keeping my standard shitroen headunit, kiddies like breaking into cars round my way!!

I'd go for the pioneer buddy. There's not a massive performance difference between the both of them tbh.
nice :)

they are coaxials mate there just as shite as standards imo, you can get component speakers that will cost about the same as them, JBL ones are ok for the price and people say the infinity ones are ok even though i dont rate them, you dont have to run them off an amp but there much better amped up, you could just wire it up under the seat
a mean the standard headunit isnt going to be much cop with components either as i think it puts out about 12 watts per channel RMS

Cheers for the replies, didnt realise the standard headunit was so poor, I realise now if I want a quality sound/setup I need to invest in a proper headunit/amp/speakers, I think I'll take it a step at a time, for now I think I will go with Predator_VTR advise and go for this set of infinity's: -
Infinity REF-5022i (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/infinity-reference-5022i-p-5899.html)
Along with a set of Ivanhoe noise deadening (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ivanhoe-good-quality-Car-Sound-noise-deadening-dynamat_W0QQitemZ220138809428QQihZ012QQcategoryZ14 98QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) which works out less than a £10 delivered :y:

Deadening is the buss. Just done on of my doors with brown bread, ace stuff, still noticed the difference even with the doorcard off. If you can use brown bread, very cheap and I think its alittle bit better I might add.

id actually have these though
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dynamics-sd52-p-5522.html
something like this, and id recommend a cheap headunit when you can, only needs to be about 80 pounds and stick with pioneer, alpine, clarion and kenwood

Cheers for the code super_cds, rep'd. :y:
The thing putting me off the components is the mounting of the tweeters, I would'nt/could'nt mount in the dash as routing cables there would be a nightmare, only other option is mounting them in the door which means drilling which again I want avoid, so the questions is how/where are you mounting yours? images would help as well ;)

you can have my doorcards with a drilled tweeter hole already in for cheap :)
pm me if your interested.
as for the rest, as pred said, you really dont wanna be sticking with standard hu, if you did, may as well get more OE speakers.
best thing to do imo, is not to get everything at once, stagger it so it doesnt seem so bad, and try to get everything second hand, that way, when you sell, you probably wont lose much on the gear.
take a look on talkaudio (http://www.talkaudio.co.uk) at the for sale section, very good, and ebbay of course

Fitted all four this weekend :y: , rears were a bitch but impossible, dual layer of Ivanhoe sound deadening upfront (also a bitch to cut etc...), had to use spacer on the fronts as the Infinity REF-5022i were to deep, you can probably tell from the images, on the whole a nice sounding system, needs beding in but sound loads better than before.

They look good mate. I wouldnt get components for the same reasons, i didnt want to mount a tweeter as i would devalue the car loads. I have upgraded to coaxials and there is a massive improvement in sound so not sure really why predator thinks there only as good as standards

would it of realy devalued the car that much by drilling a small hole? you could of put the tweeters on the mirror cover if you have elec mirros, then when you do sell the car pick up a set prob for £5 or less.
would of bin worth it for the SPL's up front
