Hi guys n gals, this is Dave's sister he has let me go on his log on to ask a few questions.
Basically the head gasket has gone on my saxo, bought a kit for it today and haynes manual, im not intending to do it, lol, but my mums friend will be having a go at it, he is very mechanically minded and works on cars all the time and has changed head gaskets before, just never on a saxo.
Is there any specified tools needed in order to do this smoothly? Or any tips?
Cheers
Dee :omg:

its where due to a high temp the haed its self has warped which means it will not sit propley this is where skiming comes in a machine shop takes a layer off metal off the head to make it evan and flat again

yep it may need skimming if the old gasket was messed. also if you skim the head you may need a slightly thicker head gasket(repair gasket). the main tools needed is a torque wrench as the headbolts have to be set a certain torque level;)

as said skimming is probablies in order, tbh id get id done anyway, skimming is using a milling machine to make sure the head is flat so the gasket has a flat surface to seal up therefore wont leak oil
