Driving along, indicated, and dashboard sets alight! Strong electrical burn smell, i pulled straight over and turned everything off and let it burn out..... now my indicators wont stay on untill you push the stalk and hold it in place if that makes sense.

So it will not push up and down and stay there, but it does inductate both boths if pushed and held in direction you wish to go. :homme:

could be the relays or a dodgy stalk or wires mate, the flasher relay burns out and stinks

Thats what it was i think, it was white thin smoke, the indicators work both ways, right clicks on fine now and left works if u press it down and hold the stalk but it wont stay down on its own but it does work

Take the collum area apart mate, might just be a loose wire find out where the problem was and sort it if you can, then put a second hand stalk off ebay in theyre dirt cheap. You should be able to tell what had the problem when you take a closer look. If its completely random then check the current levels of the wires going into the unit

Id be surpirsed if its anything more complicated than either a couple of connector blocks to take out and put back in, or just putting some wires with crimps on the end into sockets

id imagine it has a block connector. Will have to have a look sometime soon. Hopefully wont have to remove the steering wheel to get at the bolts.
