is this something anyone can do or is it best left to a professional everyone keeps saying its dead easy, and i can make a home made header tank out of a coke bottle?

could someone just explain roughly the process of bleeding the system in detail so i know what im letting myself in for, as i am considering trying it myself, also one more thing is it blue or red antifreeze i need and can i used ready mixed stuff?

saxos usually take green coolant.its quite easy rly mate. theres 3 bleed screws. one is in the top left of your engine area on top of a pipe near your inlet manifold, looks like a dust-cap. Another is on the right of your cylinder head, think its a 21mm bolt. and also theres one on the right of your radiator, small black cap you need to unscrew, easier to use pliers for it.

Put a fair amount of coolant in butremember not too much, you'l want about 1 and half / 2 litres of coolant and the rest water.wait a few moments for it all to flow through then start your car.You need to leave your cooland cap off through out this. the 1st swrew you want to look at is on your radiator. once coolant starts flowing out of it then put you swrew on. if it takes a while for coolant to flow then slowly squeeze the hose nearest to the cap several times. Also, putting your hand over the coolant tank might help to pressurise it.Also the two small holes eather side of it.

Secondly is the one on the side of your cylinder head. you are basiccly repeating this process again. wait for a steady from of coolant then but the bolt back on it. be carefull not to trap any air in it.

Then thirdly is the one near your inlet manifold. this is usualy the hardest. Again, repeat this process, but you might nead to slowly squeeze your coolant hose again, try sqeezing the bottom left hose coming out of you rad though.once youve got coolant flowing out, put your screw on, and youv finished. Sorry for the essay, Hope this helps:y:
