i have a 1.4 westcoast at the mo and wanting to swop to a vtr rang sum insurance companies and got dismissed and was told that u had t b 21...so is ne1 18 with a vtr and how the hell did u get insured?

I was 18 and insured on a VTR.

A lot of companies require you to be 21 unless you have had insurance with them before or have no claims. Im with RAC and rang them up to ask bout a VTR. She said they normally dont do it for under 21 drivers but she got authorisation from some technical team and agreed to quote. Mine will be £250 more a year going from a furio to a VTR. Not even sure if i wanna bother cause i do 350 miles a week.

Thats the thing i h8 bout over here, just on my furio last year my insurance was £3000! This year with 1ncb its £1426, if my insurance was as cheap as over in the mainland id have a VTS rite now!

im 19 with nearly 2 years no claims i had a westcoast then got a vtr i pay 1600 fully comp but thats cause mine is modified aswel im with quinn direct

I was paying £700 fully comp on a westie with Quinn with 2 Yrs NCB and 19yrs old. For a VTR would cost me £850 I think or not far off! :)
Also had my dad as a named driver as he's been driving for about 35 years odd and not made a claim so bought it down loads.

dont go with norwich union sooo steep im with them at the moment and for tpft they are charging me round £900 for a standard vtr im 21 with 4yrs ncb but iv found a quote from confused.com for £340 so come jan when my insurence is up im moving!lol :afro:

with quinne and am 18 - 1year ncd and fully comp am paying £1500 thats on a vtr 03 plate.

I'm with Admiral, 18 on a 52 plate VTR, 0 NCB... £1250 with mummy as a named driver, fully comp....

Im 17 got a vtr, had 1 write off claim already and got insured for £2000 3rd party fire and theft by quinn direct!!!:n:

easily done man, shop about, play quotes off against each other.
quinn direct are pretty good, brentacre too
