hide files so save memory ???

hi everyone

i have a lot of files on my pc that i need but not as much as i did but still need them like music, vids and other files if put all these into a winrar archive so i can delete the stuff off my pc would it help the memory or would it be the same thing as them been on the pc anyway please help me

Hiding files will not free up space.

You could try and 'compress' them but they wont shrink much and they can become corrupted during the process. The best way is to burn them to CD/DVD or get a secondary hard drive and put them on.

You mention 'Memory' but that is a different thing to hard drive space?. Memory problems will likely cause your system to be slow but should not stop you saving files.
