ok i am quite up on headunits and stereo wiring however i got a sony one with my car and i have wired a sub and amp in BUT i have connected the RCA's in the back of the sony head unit (its quite a basic cd head unit) but there only seems to be 1 light blue wire left to connect the reomte too which i have done and its not working :n: ....

So has anyone else got a idea what colour wire sony use as there remote wire i and if the amp will be directly activated off it as i have tried holding down the buttons to activate the amp like on my pioneer head unit but i can see no option !? dont really wanna go out and buy a new head unit :(

try a multimeter on the remote wire to see if theres any power coming through

do the same with the power cable, check fuses and connections too

if all else fails you can just use a switched live with an inline switch to turn the amps on and off, and if that still doesnt work then its probablies a fault inside the amp

1. check amp works:
just, bridge the live wire from the amp, to the switch input on the amp and check that it does switch on.

2.
take the switch wire and connect it to the HU switch from the car, that is connected to the ignition, not the switch output from the HU!

I think that makes sense lol
