Right, i have just got a new headunit a Sony CDXTGT410.

And the standard speakers in a saxo are shite i swear.

So i wanna uprate my front speakers and maybe the rear ones, just wondering what size front and back are ?

And what wattage should i look at, i dont want to blast my ears to death and i dont want to have to buy a amp just to power speakers, i just want an uprated version with a bit of bass in them, as the standard speakers just have no bass at all.

13cm in the front dont bother with doing rears

its best to buy components and an amp, you can get light amps that go under the seat dont worry :p

the sony headunit will be ok on them but will sound a lot better amped up, and anyway sony audio is shite

what kind of budget are you looking at??

tbh mate, im really just into listerning to my music at a sensible level, your install is way to over the top for me.

is it really not worth uprating rear speakers.

im gonna take a miss on componets for now, would like too but i dont have enough money to spend just on ice.

literally about 40-50 quid max for two front speakers. just dont know what wattage to go for.

got my hu from http://caraudiosecurity.com, and they seem to have some decent front speakrs on tthere

just leave the rears honestly, and i know what you mean you slag lol :p

you can get components for that price, they will wire into the headunit no problems too

something like these will be best if you can spend the extra 9.99

piece of piss mate, you just wire the speaker wires that are there to the crossover then from there to the speaker and tweeter, simple honestly

have a look in the FAQs/stickies, i did a diagram in there somewere :y:

for headunits stick to the likes of alpine. pioneer, clarion and kenwood, ive had a few sony headunits and there just plain crap along with there speakers and amps etc

you dont have to just use some velcro if your not bothered, you big gay, use the mirror covers on the inside to drill holes, they wont cost much for another pair, or even the a pillars

there coaxials and imop are shit, yes much better than standards but will distort at a high volume for sure

If you have no plan to get an amp then co-axial speakers would be the best choice, but not just any speaker. Using component speakers off of the head unit will lose a lot of volume over the standard speakers, standard speakers are designed to be run off of a head unit where as components aren't.

When looking at co-axial speakers make sure you choose a set that has a higher sensitivity rating, usually around 90db or more to match the original speakers, you won't gain a tremendous amount of volume by replacing your speakers, they will still distort and the bass won't be much better but there will be a slight quality increase. This is why components and an amp is recommended but if you have your mind set on a simple replacement then something like these would be your best bet if you could stretch an extra £10:
