Have searched the forums but found nothing resolved in what this may be caused by,

I have had my vtr for 2 weeks, i drove it from leicester to north london yesterday, when i stopped and left the car for 30 minutes to come back to it and start it it wouldn't start, it was making the ticking noise but not starting, i tried for about 15 minutes it did nothing, then out of no where it started,

i then turned it off again once it started, again nothing happened for another few attempts, and then it started, a few times it starts and then stalls after about 30 seconds, then i start it again it starts fine, any ideas? thanks....

could also be a dodgy alternator

matey check for corrosion on yout battery connection! i had the same problem...if there's any corrosion then that will be the problem! (corrosion meaning goldy yellowy stuff on the connection) get a wire brush or sand paper and get it off! :y:

i know its completely different but our boat was doing this when we were trying to start it - turns out it needed a new starter motor.
