The Engine Management Light has come on in my 2001 VTR. The oil cap had a hole in it (which is now changed) do you think it could be to do with the oil pressure or level? Any advise of where to look or what could be causing it would be very fantastic.

Thanks :y:

nah then wont be anything you have done mods wise

id recommend getting it on a diagnostics test, could just be down to a dirty sensor, like the o2 sensor etc

Engine Management light usually means a sensor has picked up a fault in one of the parts of the engine. Most of the engine parts will have some sort of sensor on them that monitors for problems.

My engine management light is on and the diagnostic came up with Idle control valve 'Plausability' and Cat below efficiency. Cat is brand new so problem is with the Lambda sensor that monitors the exhaust gases.

In all honesty the light could mean a problem with anything that has a sensor. You need a diagnostir test done to be honest, they cost between £30-£50. (mine was £47 in VAT).

Hope that helps

try ovoiding taking it to citroen they charge you 35-50 quid to put it on the diagnostic test try a local garge mine was 10.00 with mine be alot cheeper and they can pinpoint the problem rather than you guessing wat it couldbe.

You could try dis-connecting the battery for 30 mins, allowing the capacitors in the ECU to discharge and re-connect to battery.

This should and will usually reset the ECU and the Engine Management Light you are getting, worth a try.

You could also buy a diagnostic tester and you can see what sensor is indicating problem and resolve, however, if you buy a decent diagnostic tester, you can also reset this light!

Do you think it might be because of the induction kit? Doesnt the air box have somesort of electrical wire that goes into it?

shouldn't be anything to do with that mate. As others have said, get it on a diagnostic test.
