I know this is a daft question but it would be nice to get another answer, I'm in the process of replacing the front speakers in a mk2 VTR, can anyone confirm which colour is positive RED or GREEN. What kind of damage can you do by wiring them incorrectly??

Thx.

does one wire have a black line down it??

this usually determines the negative, technically either way round will work, but they do need to be connected up right as if it isnt it will distort at high volume

You should be able to tell when connected as the sound quality will be affected if its not done right.

theres no exact science. On mine one door green would have been positive then on the other it would have been red. Dodgy citroen wiring, as it left the stereo both were posi green, one door was fine and the other as the looms connected rom the door to the car the wire colours were the other way round.

Best to just connect both ways and use your ears.
