Hi my vts has decided to be anoying and rev while the car is stationary, the car will just keep reving higher and the revs dont drop when itouch the accelorator it seems to be missing and then the revs drop and start crreping up again!

i have had a play with the plugs on the sensors and have cleaned the spark plugs,by pulling the plugs off the sensos it seems it is the idle valve but asyou all know citroen are asking a shocking price for a new 1!Do the vts share the sameidle valve as the vtr?????i have seen a few vtr's in the local scrap yard i can get 1 off??

thanks all help much apreciated!!!!!!!!

Hi Mate

Sounds like it could be the idle control valve as you said. I replaced mine the other day with a second hand one from a scrappie for £20. You might try taking the valve out and cleaning it, will do the job.

Citroen charge £100+ for one as far as im aware. Unsure on the VTS but on my furio, the valve sits on top of the throttle body and unscrews from the back. The screws are torx and there were only two of them. The valve then slides out and a new one slides in.

I cant see how the ICV can cause the car to missfire thou?. could be wrong but all the valve does as far as im aware is control how mcuh air is let in through the throttle body by adjusting how much the air inlet opens?
Hope that helps

Yeah im saying a missfire but its probly the response to theaccelorator as i give it a tampwhen the cars racing to like 2000rpm and climbing it drops 4 a sec then goes up again.

Im handy with cars i took the throtle positionsensor off and cleaned it but ihade to be somewhere soi didnt take the idle valve off.Itnext to the throtle position sensor i found it thursday nite.Think ill try taking off the ICV and cleaning it what urecomend to cleanit WD40and a cloth?
