After many hours stripping, sanding and finishing I finally completed the refurb on my 1.6 205gti wheels. Don't have any pictures of them before I started unfortunately but the paint was flaking with surface corrosion and some deep scoring around the rims. All in all pretty poor condition but were only £40 off ebay with new tyres. Decided to polish the rim and paint the rest of the wheel in Peugeot Steel Grey.
After stripping, sanding, polishing and masking I got the first coat of primer on:

Still a few minor imperfections so sanded down and used filler primer. Sanded down again and primed for the final coat. Final coat went on a treat (dodgy phone camera):

Lacquered the wheels up and peeled away the masking to reveal the final finish. Plenty of metal polish later and I got 4 of these:

All that's left is to dress the tyres and get them back on the car tomorrow. Pleased with the results but was very hard work and unbelievably time consuming. The 2000 grit paper did a great job finishing off the rims.
