Saxo Vs Nova

hey people what do you think about this, who do you think would win in a 1/4 mile race between a saxo vts and a nova 2L 8V. or has any1 raced a 2L nova

hmmm it would be close, up the strip it would be down to driver but if you add in some bends then the nova is going to be poo-ed upon from a great height

the deal is i have a vts with 35bhp of nos and a mate of mine is gettin a 2L put into his nova and he thinks he is gona kill me when he gets it in.

why the 2.0 8v is only putting out around 115bhp, not an awful lot in the bhp/tonne stakes. Driver would win it i think. Different if it was the 16v

Mate has a nova gte, now re-shelled in a 1.2 body. Fully stripped out, seam welded, 2 buckets, cage and something resembling a dash. Engine is 1.6 8v, has been modded, cam, port/polish etc, etc. Does the quarter in 14secs. Seen the timing sheet from santa pod. Its fucking quick. I can just about catch him on the twisties, but in a straight line i have no chance.

it doesnt matter wot car the nova wud b up against, the other car wud win b'coz the nova wud fall apart at any speed greater than 30mph due to the levels of rust on it!

i will agree that there are sum quick novas out there! i have a local one that has had an engine transplant im guessing by the fact that down the side of his rear window, he has got a list of cars he has beaten and other cars he wanst to beat! and these cars themselves aint exactly slow!

My mates car doesn't look too bad, it just looks like a 1.2 nova with a set of cavalier gsi wheels and a roll cage! You can hear it miles away! The list of cars i've seen him beat is silly: Nova 2.0 turbo, Calibra turbo, RX-7, BMW's the list goes on. Funny as fuck!

mate im sorry but i would back the nova. and even and the road. i used to have a gte lowered 60mm and it stuck to the road like smileys/smiley5.gif. you bottled out b 4 it did.

nope saxo pisses all over it the only way its going to get better is modded suspension, but then mod the saxo suspension and its back to square one

The saxo would win from what has bin said!!

on the straight because of the nos otherwise the nova would win after it got going but i think off the mark the vtr would kill it due to weight! And round the bends not much can keep up with the vtr, my mate was left behind round the bends when he raced his mates impreza turbo your sum snakey rounds til the straight obviously then he got seriuosly killed lol! smileys/smiley4.gif

if you got the money to spend on any car you can make it fast as fuck.

I have seen 1/4 mile video footage of a Nova beating a Skyline.

Its all down to money, a car is a just a frame once modifications begin. With new engines, new running gear and new parts, its hardly a Nova anymore...

Same principle on any car including the Saxo, once a 2.0i GTi6 engine is dropped in with throttle bodies and NOS, then obveously its going to be bloody quick ;)

Money is king on the performance front between cars.

On a track however

A 2.0 Nova etc would handle so much worse than a Saxo VTS (standard) and would probably lose, its all swings and roundabouts smileys/happy.gif
