vtr is a 1.6 8 valve and the vts ia 1.6 16 valve.

The mark 1 vtr has 90 bhp where as the mark 2 has 98 bhp. The vts is 120bhp.

The book says the 0-60 for the mark 2 vtr is 9.3 seconds but im sure mine is quicker than that?

Well the one thing that shows the MASSIVE DIFFERENCE.

VTR 0-100 = 33 secs
VTS 0-100 = 22 secs

Says it all. Thats a huge 60-100 diffence

Yer there is a big difference but theres no way it take 33second 0-100 i'd say under 30 for the VTR not sure about the VTS smileys/smiley2.gif

There figures for a completely standard one, most are modified so pull the seconds down.

The VTS top end is oustanding compared to the VTR.

VTR however is best around towns and upto the 60mark.

thats true, the lowest gears are basically the same! but i've notice with my vts, when into third, i pull away!, thats with majority of cars, not just a vtr!

the VTR is faster up to the 60 mark? the VTS's 0-60 is roughly 7.5 secs standard compared to the VTR's 9.2 seconds, I know which one i'd rather be in smileys/smiley4.gif, sadly its the VTR ;(

No the VTR is slower all round, its just the difference between the 0-60 is not to much. where as the 60-100 is vast
