handy BUT, when i bought my xbox it was so i could play games on it as ps3 was years behind coming out, if i wanna tape something i have a tape recorder, if i wanna watch tv i have ntl, :S so tbh its a nice bonus but its not needed really

You go and pay how ever much that is a month... ps3 gets it for free, its just a bonus tbh.

It says on that link its terrestrial, so bbc 1 & 2 ITV, chan 4 and 5

But thats all ive read about it your link... I cant imagine it would be full sky, perhaps a selection of channels like freeview etc. But who knows...

The only reason i say i cant imagine it being full sky because say you paid £30 a month for sky, well buy a ps3 for £400 and its paid for itself in little over a year, id cetainly buy one rather than get a sky package...

It says the channels are HD READY, you wont actually be getting HD programming for free as you have to pay for it at the moment, and most channels dont even offer HD output yet anyway. All it means is that when the digital changeover happens in 2012 and some terrestrial channels start offering HD programming for free then you'll be ready for it. Thats how I read it anyway.

It's good that they have added an extra something that the PS3 offers. It's a good multimedia system with it's built in blueray and now this, just a shame there aren't really any good games out for it at the moment and many of the ones it does are also available for the 360, and also come out earlier for the 360.

All it is essentially is a freewview box with ur ps3 becoming a hdd recorder. Early reports state that it is freeview only with no option to hook it up to sky or cable.

Lets be honest if uve got a ps3 theres a good chance uve got sky and maybe even sky+ making it redundant anyway

Na, i ain't good sky fella. Only got freeview, still got the original itv digital box the nokia one. Dont like sky, loads of repeats and not much on. So for people in my shoes this will be a good idea.

You already have freeview though you are only going to gain the ability to record it which you can already with freeview set top recorders.

Sounds like more of a gimmick to me

Yeah but my box cannot record, and it is old and playing up. So might as well buy it for the ps3, saves me having to buy another set top box that can record.
