My dad just fitted new rear pads to my vtr and now there is a grinding noise when i drive.

Any ideas, he said it will go when they are bedded in but surely they shouldn't sound like they are rubbing?

they will need bedding in, and if your rear disks are a fairly worn they maybe causing the new pads to run on the ridges left due to wear and corrosion.

i had that it was my wheel nuts they just needed tighting

Yeah i guess the discs are fairly worn, probably should of changed them too.

Will check the nuts too but im guessing it won't be that as we double checked all of them after we put the wheels back on.
