Newbie need cd player help

Hi all, i have just bought a saxo and decided to fit it with a cd player.
i bought a proper saxo one from ebay with a code but when i installed it (there was only two blocks and an aerial connection), it does not hold the settings such as the code, radio presets etc.

This is very annoying. My previous player did so a assume that power was being permanetly fed. Is it possible that the fuse at the back is blown.

I dont want to mess until i have got proper expert advice.

different cd player different settings anyway,but yeh sounds like there isnt a permanent feed to it mate,so 1:try fuse 2:if that fails do what i do throw the cd player away lol
