Petrol consumption

Hi guys,

Bit of a problem in that my car is suddenly using a lot of petrol. I aint fitted any engine mods or anything so im confused. One thing that i noticed is that the engine sometimes revs by itself! eg yesterday i wapped the car into neutral and put some stuff in the boot for a sec and the car revved up to i reckon 3,000 revs twice, nobody was even in the car. also the exhaust is a little 'throaty' but dunno why this might affect consumption, would it?

any suggestions would be cool

well mate id get it on the ramps check for holes in the pipes and check fuel lines or get sum1 to check for ya!!!
