I wrote last week about my car just cutting out..When i bought the car i was informed the head gasket had a tiny leak after its first service, but unfortunately after a years thrashing it has finally happened. I know...Ouch, this bad boys is about to set me back £500- he has given me discount, its taken the engine manifold with it. It also includes Pick up VaT the diagnostic etc. Said the body works the best hes seen on a car of its age (99) for a while and due to me having replaced most bits like down pipe etc before i think it'll be steady for a couple of years now...(touchwood).

Anyone had this problem before and how much did you pay? Is mine an okay price??

What engine is it etc?
Headgasket went on my furio, and i dropped another engine in it - Cost me £100 and left me a shed load of spares!
The guy would probably be able to replace the engine for less than he can do the headgasket, depends how good he is really, if yours is a good runner, and you feel its worth getting the gasket done, do it!
