Where to find the engine number

Hi guys,

Hopefully someone here can help me!

I've been looking at a W reg VTR, looks like a bit of a bargain, but i'm not convinced it has the original engine in there.

I've tried looking for the engine number, but it's not anywhere obvious.

Any of you know where I need to look to find the engine number?

I think its somewhere inside the engine bay itself.

You could always try a hpi check on the vehicle.

I would also have thought that it would be stamped somewhere in the engine bay.

If in any doubt about buying a car though or what its had done to it.....don't buy it! There will be another bargain along soon enough.....always is.

i think you have to take the head off... lol and its stamped in there somewhere
