Hey, I no Ripspeed dosnt have the best name, but they are cheap and I dont have much money so am having a lk :P
Am looking at the Ripspeed dv-725, Is the flip, touch screen unit and I think its quite nice, is £350 atm.
Anyone got, had or know anybody that has one of these?

Would you buy the unit if it had "Halfords" written on it, because Ripspeed is just a sub brand of halfords, they own Ripspeed. It's the same as Car Audio Centre own Inphase, you're better off going with a company that is dedicated to creating audio equipment, not bits and bobs for cars in general. If you're willing to spend £350 on a flip up unit then why not spend an extra £30 and get the Pioneer AVHP5700 (http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/pioneer-avhp5700dvd-p-4210.html), it's a far better unit and it's cheap while it's on sale.

i got given the ripspeed monitor for free so decided to use it and upgrade it later. They arent to bad, does the job but would def spend the extra 30 quid for a better brand!!!!!!:clapping:

why dont you get a refurbed non touch screen one for 150 quid. still comes with 12 months warranty.

Like the idea of the pioneer one tbh, will probz get that but will want a new alarm if i do, so mite have to wait a while :(

I have too agree with steviet. Get one with a removable facia, the ripspeed one has no removable panel. Not worth getting the car broken into.

I work in halfords, I'm a 'Ripspeed Specialist' it says on my name badge, Mate, it's shit don't buy it, the amount we get in every week that get sent off for repairs is unbelievable!!!!!!

Save up and get a better one, you won't regret it!

i agree i work on teh ripseed desk at the halfords in peacehaven and the amount i have had back is astonishing. and it got to the point now where you dont even send ripspeed units of for repair they just get replaced there and then cos there so shit and cheep. i mean yea they do as they say but for reliability go somewhere else. :A:
