The rear torsion bars are normally best left to a garage to adjust them, but if you're confident in your abilities and you can obtain the correct tools for the job, this is a modification that you CAN do yourself!
Please be aware that this is quite a tricky task to undertake and that your actions could lead to malfunction of your rear...
Changing the Clutch
This guide was developed for a Citroen Saxo 1.6 VTR (8v) NFT engine, however the principles apply to other models also.
Symptoms:
Juddering when the clutch pedal was released suggested damage to the clutch friction plate springs, the pressure plate or a worn release bearing; In this case the failure was a worn release... 12 Comments
If you'd like to lower the front suspension of your Saxo, this can be done in a number of ways. By far the cheapest option is to fit a pair of uprated, shorter springs. It is important to realise that the springs you will purchase are not simply shorter, the spring damping rate is also increased to compensate for the shorter spring length.

Worn or damaged driveshafts can be very annoying. If you are hearing grinding noises when moving slowly in traffic or whilst turning corners it is likely that one or both of your driveshafts is worn or damaged. If one of the rubber CV gaitors has split and you have lost grease from the CV joint, this will cause the joint to wear out more quickly.... 3 Comments

Please take note of this warning and read the report below. Removing your door-pins could save you a lot of hassle and money!
This is a very easy mod'...
This guide will show you how to mirror polish the engine head covers from the Saxo VTS engine. This is quite a simple job, as the rocker covers are made from aluminium, which is a relatively soft metal. VTR head covers should not be polished in this way, as they are NOT aluminium and will not retain a shine (they will rust unless painted). The...
Electronic immobiliser ignition key
The Saxo electronic immobiliser device locks the engine management system as soon as the key is removed from the ignition, making the car immobilised. For all Saxo models, which do not use a keypad immobiliser (only early Mk1 Saxos have keypad) the ignition key contains an electronic component which ensures...
Colour coding certain parts of the Saxo dash can be quite a popular modification. Some people choose to buy stick on dash kits, which are available for approx £40, but I decided to strip my dash down and paint it using "chrome/alloy" effect spray paint.
This guide will concentrate on spraying the centre dash console. Many people also choose to...
When lowering the front suspension of a Mk2 Saxo, one of the power steering fluid pipes sits closer to the driver's side steering rod, which can over time, rub through the power steering pipe.
If/when the pipe splits / ruptures, the power steering pump empties all of the power steering fluid through the hole in the pipe. This leads to a total... 1 Comments
