Where to start....

I haven't posted anything since FCS so there'll be a lot in this latest episode of my blog.

FCS:
We decided to get a room in the sax-p hotel so we could meet a few people off here and hopefully make some new freinds along the way. We set off from ours at about 12 to meet the convoy at wooley edge services for about 1330. We arrived a bit early and sat around until a very nice Euro'd baby blue saxo turned up, the guy inside informed us that the rest of the convoy were about an hour away so we sat and had a good old chin wag and found out that the nice young man we'd met was in fact yorkie. We waited for a bit longer until a few others turned up including a nice megane and a very familiar black and orange saxo... I thought to myself "I've seen that in a magazine!" and sure enough it was the exact same one with Craig (sax180) and his lovely fiancee. So, off we went.
We got to the hotel at about 5, got checked in and headed for the bar. As we ordered drinks we noticed a lot of comotion outside so decided to investigate whilst supping the first beer and deciding what to eat.
We got outside to find a chevvy something or another on it's side on the footpath across the road from us, glass everywhere and some ambulance crew helping the guy inside... Not wanting to get in the way we took a set and watched the plot unfirll with craig and another lad called liam and their girlfreinds. after a while we got bored and all went for some food.
Turned out the guy had clipped the back of another car and rolled it, He was okay apart from some scratches and a bashed up arm (apparently).

After all that excitement we went out the back of the pub to continue the socialising as the light faded. just as it was going dark we heard some more comotion out the front so went to see what we thought would be another smash, only to find a herd of cows running around in the road... A farmer type came running up after them and we soon had them herded back into a field from where they came! we then got back to a few more pints before retiring for the night.

Some of the crew had headed off to the local discotheque for the evening and upon their return were slightly tipsie beyond the point of realising that the hotel had paper thin walls and all the frolocking could be heard throughout the whole place... this kept us up until about 2am.

Up at 6 with 4hours sleep it was time to pack up and ship out to the show! there was some fun with the duty manager-ess complaining that a carpark of rumbling saxo's and 106's was annoying some of the other residents, This was met with sympathy and as requested we all hit the gas and sat with our limiters blipping away! (what DID she expect! lol)

anyways, we arrived at the show for about 8 and got parked up. Simo got the gazeebo up and shuffled a few cars about to make things look organised then off we went to grab some brekkie and have a mooch about. The sun was in full power mode and their were loads of cool cars to look at. then time came for the track session... I was absolutely terrified as i knew that if i crashed the car, my girlfreind and I would not be able to get home!

Luckily the track was awesome and i didn't crash. I got overtaken by pretty much everyone out there and the quite nippy VTR that i thought we had was shown to be less than stock speed. ( i need to get it tuned asap!)

We meandered around the show ground for a while after the track and i purchased a set of pressed plates. I got them with a GB on them so as to look a bit more like a road legal plate but still keep the pressed look.

the stunt show in the display area was good as was the chopped, rear engined saxo, the comentary from the woman however was crap!
After a good look around and with money dwindling we headed off on the journey home, totaly stooked about a really good weekend. If anyone we met over the weekend reads this, Thanks for helping us to have a great time and making us both feel more than welcome. (also add me to your contacts as i can't remember half of the people we spoke to! sorry)

So FCS was a blast. since we got back I managed to get the pressed plates on and get the car detailed. It came back looking so gleaming that i could see my face in it! only downside is, i also could see the bad points a lot better. I need to get the bump strips colour coded and get a few chips sorted and get a few little dents poped out, then bodywork-wise, she'll be near mint!

I just need to get the back end lowered now so the exterior of the car is pretty much how i want it. I'm going to get a normal filler cap and try to get a new ariel plate as the one on it is knekered and i can't remove the ariel. then get the bumps and scrapes seen to, then thats it.

After the track session I have to decide whether to spend money on the vtr OR get a vts for tracktime. As i have a few quite expensive hobbies already, I need to think carefully whether I'd actually use it more for the track or would it just sit in the drive for 90% of the year. The other option is get an S and work the engine but keep the interior so the missus can use it for normal things.
I would love to have the money and space to have one of each... It would look cool having two MK1 maritious blue saxo's, 1 vts trak car and 1 vtr daily runner. I could get a towbar on the vtr and get a trailer to tow the track car on! Or is that too geeky! lol

Any ways... I think i've bored myself now so you must be asleep by this point so i'll leave it there for now.

Next post hopefully will be, Lowered back end and ariel fixed. Cheers.

P.S. check my picture album for up to date pics of the car
