January 2000... New Shoes.
It was now time for some new shoes for the Saxo. I took a trip over to Wheelbase near Manchester and after a few hours deliberation, I opted for a set of 16" TSW Evo-R's, dressed with 195x45 Michellin SX-GT Pilot Sport tyres. The new alloys worked really well with the subtle lowering, and snuggly filled the arches. Minor mods were required to the rear bumper brackets to stop scrubbage over road bumps.
With a small number of engine and handling goodies now on the car, it was time to make a few styling mods. I picked up a set of M3 mirrors...

December 1998... The beginning.
In December 1998 I went along to my local Citroen dealer (Barclays of Warrington) to blag a test drive in a Saxo VTS. I originally had no intention of trading in my nicely modded Escort Si, it was just one of those days when there was seemingly nothing else better to do than take a couple of cars out for a test drives.
Unfortunately, there were no VTS models left in the North West region, so I took a VTR for a spin instead. I was so impressed with the VTR's handling and performance that I decided to order a VTS straight away, without...

You can use your Blog to talk about anything that's on your mind, but if you put a bit of order to things, you'll see some benefits
If you goto your blog control panel and clikc the 'blog categories' button you can define a number of categories.
Think of these as sub-directories or folders for your blog comments. So, for example you may have a 'general chit chat' category, a 'football' category and another category for 'My saxo progress'. You can then link other memebrs directly to a certain category, rather than linking them to your blog home page.

I got the front passenger side wheel arch trim back from my mate Mark the other day, Just got it fitted so the Saxomobile has a full bodykit again! W00T!
I tried putting the exhaust on today as well but i'd have to cut a big chunk out of the rear bumper and i'm not willing to do that so i've put it on ebay, I'll stick it up on here too.
I've got me and Nic (the missus) booked in for FCS as well. I'm well looking forward to it as i've booked a track session. So now all i need to do is get the car lowered, An exhaust system sorted and hopefully some better induction. ...

Twitter seems to be getting a lot of press lately, so a couple of weeks ago, I thought I'd check it out with a personal account, with the view of setting up a Saxperience Twitter account if it looked worthwhile.
Whilst many people say Twitter is simply the latest fad in the social networking world, I think its different. Twitter is more convenient, straight to the point, less intrusive and can be used whilst on the move.

Just picked up a powerflow twin exit stainless system from westie-rossi. I know their not the best in the world but the welds are all good so it'll do until i can get a desicion made as to what system would be the best performer on my car.
can't wait to get it on and see if their's much differance in power output.

Fitted the E-Tech strut brace today. I had a day off to celebrate our patron saints day, St George. I decided it would be best spent pootling around in a French car?? ANYWAY! I was going to go to Demon Tweeks to get a new Powerflow Exhaust fitted, but at the last minute decided to have an ask on here as to the reputation and power gains to be expected... The response was not good so I decided to hold off and do some more research into what type of system would best suit my needs. Instead of going to Demon Tweeks I took a drive over to ABP motor sport to have a look at suspension (maybe I could...

The postman dropped off a nice big envelope stuffed full of goodies today. As i had signed up for the premium account, i was sent some stickers a membership card and an ad loop to put on my key... Seeing as it's a nice day for a change i thought i'd give the car a quick rinse off, chamoix it down and put the stickers on... well I've just finished washing the car and have realised that i hae to be over at my cousins in an hour for her 30th... I might be a bit late cos I really want to get the stickers on now, think i'll grab a quick shower and a shave, get ready to go then, put the stickers on...

Right I found this Saxo VTR at my cousins in Bedford. He works at his dad's garage and had bought it of a lad that came in a wanted shut of it. I went down one weekend after a long discusion with my missus that she wanted a new car because he old golf was on it's last legs. She didn't want anything too flash and said that her Ex had owned a saxo for a while and it was nice to drive so when i saw my cousin had this one I thought i'd have it. It's got a high mileage on it (114k!!!) and was a bit tatty. I told him to give it a good going over and stick some better brake pads on and some new disks...
