Took a trip down to Coventry to pick up the new engine from vtr_Chris. Had a good chat and a brew before loading the 206 with a boot full of J4.

Very impressed with the rebuild that Chris has done with the bottom end
Its had all the essentials done including balancing.
So I've ended up with-

Block cleaned, checked and honed.
çrankshaft checked, measured and balanced.
Rods checked, measured and balanced.
Pistons checked, measured, new rings fitted and balanced.
All ne bearings and thrusts fitted.
Oil pump checked, measured and refitted.
A cleaned out and painted sump, with a new oil temp sensor.

Moving to the top end-

The head was stripped, cleaned and checked before the ports were cleaned up and the valves reground.
All valve stem seals replaced.
16 brand new lifters.
Cam ladders cleaned and checked.
Brand new cam ladder bolts.
Cam covers cleaned.

There is also a full gasket set including a steel multi layer gasket.
Chris also gave me a front pulley, cam pulleys, some low mileage cams, new head bolts and a selection of nuts, bolts and washers.

Next on my shopping list was-

new water pump.
Full cambelt kit.
New coolant temp sensors
New alternator belt.
New thermostat.
New oil filter.

Then I got some new tools too including-

Nice new trolley jack.
33 piece tap and die set.

And parts on the way include-

A pair of wishbones polybushed
Poly roll bar bushe.
A set of group N engine mounts.
New clutch and cable.
New battery.
Hanbrake cables.
GTi6 discs and mintex pads.
23mm master cylinder.
New brake fluid.
Goodridge hoses.
Mintex rear pads.

So all in all an expensive couple of weeks. But I shall be busy for a few weeks getting it all built up and fitted and through its test. Although I'll put the new engine in after the mot.
Then it will be a case of running it in while getting the bodywork up to scratch.
I'll get the engine bay minted up and painted before the engine goes in so I'll be using the Mrs 206 for the week it will take me to get that done.

More soon.
