ever since i have had a few before going 16v
spent loads here and there as in wheels tyres exhaust induction as the more i done the more i wanted to do not only in exterior but interior and most of all performance now i got this mint vts in black back in 2012 it was in a colour i like with not bad alloys and a nice leather interior good but not what i had in mind so there it was a low milage mint vts ready to be changed in any and every way possible now when one does what they do to their vtr/s is their own stamp on it and i think what a lot have done to their pride and joy on here over many years is impeccable and i am happy for all those that are happy with what they have achieved if i am wrong in any way please correct me

So... With a little bit of cash...I bought a few new parts for my tired Furio... and so I'm going to give it a little bit of attention and love this weekend... photo's and updates to follow... but it starts in earnest now...

On the menu is the following:
1. Engine flush and oil change
2. Gearbox flush and oil change
3. Fix leaking aerial
4. Rip out front shocks and drive shafts.
5. Replace with KYB Ultra SR's, new drive shafts, oil seals and new wheel bearings.
6. Remove rear shocks.
7. Replace with KYB equivalents.
...No lowering....
8. New rocker cover seal.
9. Waxoyl a few vulnerable places underneath.
10. Vinyl spray some interior panels... ( I want to see what it looks like black)
11. Fit a rear interior light.
12. Wash, polish and a good waxing.

You never know...someone may just look twice at it... ;-)

Picture of the pumpkin when i went to kimmeridge bay. Got wheels trims on i know, but will soon be swapped for VTS alloys!

Love the saxes ass, would like to get rid of the badges etc and have it smoothed, but its not likely to happen.

The engine bay. When i had my 50+ bhp pod filter, haven't taken a photo with my BMC CDA yet, soon to come!

Finally is the standard curio interior. Think ill keep it this way, as this is a daily, so i don't really want to strip it and lash out on bucket seats. Ill save that for when i have a better car. Quite like the comical door pin balls and the seat belts that are all different colours.

Hopefully getting VTS alloys within the next couple of weeks, so ill post new pictures when i have them.

Stay tuned.

My Saxo is a 1.4l 8v Furio. Im only doing subtle mods as i know the 1.4 isn't the best saxo but to be honest is my first car and don't really want to bother buying a 16v engine as id rather buy a new car:A:.

I bought my saxo completely bog standard. Ive had it for about 1 and a half years now ( bought it way before i passed my test ) and i love it! Even though i do get it ripped out of me over the colour!:boxing:

So far i have done the following mods:
-<del>Blue pod filter</del>
-Engine breather filter
-BMC CDA Filter
-OMP upper strut brace
-Heko wind deflectors
-Aftermarket back box (make unknown)
-Smoked rear standard lights
-Smoked side indicators

I'm just wanting it to look clean neat and tidy and have a few performance mods that boost the BHP.

the next thing is to get custom brackets made as i dont like the sliders height and i want to sit pretty low in them, next thing after that is to get a sub and get those wires ran underneath the carpet and start to work on the interior light:)

alright, so i got my first saxo for £350 ! it isnt too tidy but what can you expect for £350.. so here it is black betty-

sadly its previous owner hadnt heard of a hoover !

so i first started off buy stripping the interior, and gave everything a good power washing! its surprising what some carpet cleaner and water
can do! sadly i forgot to take photos haha! but
anyway...

so heres it stripped out..

roof lining was going to be my next job with all the trims so i brought some auto glym fabric dye from the local garage! lucky mates rates gave me 30 percent off! haha

this is after two coats! this stuff sure doesnt cover..

so after going through three cans i decided to put a coat of satin black aerosol which actually covered really well and gave it a really good finish! it even hides the mould stains!;)

the finished outcome!

Been a while since I wrote a blog about this piece of French tin that I cannot let go.

Got it through the dreaded MOT without too much effort but for the first time it has needed some help with a "welder" and I will that term loosely. So much that if I have the spare time and a spare sill I will fix the part that they were supposed to fix. Unfortunate as it is the car isn't on the road and I don't see it being back on the road this year. :wall:

Slowly going about the interior and parts of the engine bay.

The interior as stated in previous blogs will have larger speakers upfront in door pods fabricated by myself and shown in my progress thread, decided to start cutting up the rear interior panel for larger speaker also ... Not trying to crazy big just one size up and improve the sounds somewhat.

Will be pulling the carpet out in the next week or three and giving it a right going over, when I do this I will be purchasing some uprated wishbone mounts and lay some cables.

Exterior wise I have one patch of rust that I'm not happy about but it's on a door so it isn't that bad, but I will be taking the VT kit off and replacing the clips and cleaning up the paintwork plus checking for dodgy spots.

Now to the engine bay... If anyone has read the progress thread they would have seen that I built my own Oil Catch Tank. I had a gander at my engine bay and realised that the first thing that will need to go is the air box. The fuse box needs changing and depending on the work needed the battery needs to go to the boot.

If anyone can point me in the right direction on this replacement it would be a great help.

It seems the GTi has had an altercation with an object at some point in the past, and this had been dealt with in a bit of a poor way. The near side front inner wing had rust under the fusebox, and on investigation with a wire wheel I found it had been half replaced, and welded, then fillered up!
Luckily I can do what should have been done to start with and replace that whole section.
But first I need to wait for the engine and box to arrive so I can start test fitting it. Should be here on Friday I hope, then once that fits okay I can start with rebuilding the engine bay and getting it gleaming.

I'm trying to sell all my J4 stuff as the little pug will be running a bigger heart! More of that later as its a secret SHhhh!

The weather is still shit and I'm only getting one day a week to do anything, plus I'm helping my mate do his 106 too.

More soon........

There was no way I could get the 02 plate through a Vic check with so much of it missing, so that idea was shelved, I've also moved house and been left with no place to work on the car.

But on the plus side, I'm now good buddies with the lad who had the quickie and I've been heling him with his car over the last few weeks, in return for some garage space:)

So in the weeks that have passed, I've moved, scrapped the saxo shell, binned off the 02 shell and retaxed the gti for another 6 months.

The gti developed a bit of a rattle from the rear, which during the shit weather I left to develop a bit more. Which resulted in crap handling and a serious rattle.
On investigation it transpired the the roll bar end plate bolts had come loose and gone walkies, along with the passenger side end plate, which left the roll bar flapping about (almost hitting the tyre!)

Lucky I had a spare axle to Rob a plate from, but there is play in the gti axle. But that is getting binned when its out of test anyway.

Now, the exciting news is I've picked up another GTI, in silver that was being broken. It was minus all of its running gear and interior, but is very good chassis wise.
The engine bay is good but not perfect and needs the passenger side front welding up, but I'm going to replace the whole inner wing section.
Its not staying silver and I'm still fighting over cherry red or off white???

I've got shit loads of bills to pay (moving house is not cheap) and just forked out for new carpets for the house, but in a couple more weeks I should be sqaure with stuff and have a good weekly budget to put into the car:)

First thing is to get the engine bay completely stripped, paint and rust wise and start again with a clean sheet.
Expect pics on the progress thread soon.

Well, my trusty and much loved 2.5" full system has had to make way for a 3" full system as the 2.5" was causing too much back pressure at over 400bhp...

So - all the parts have arrived, and it should be on the car and fitted before the new year (yes, 3 days time!). Pics to follow.

Once that's in, the rest of the engine pipework fabrication can begin. This year I'm having more solid pipework than last year which used a lot of silicone pipework. The upside is better looks and better heat protection (I can wrap the solid pipes in gold reflection foil) - the downside is of course once you've decided on the routing it can't be changed.

Lots happening still!

Right, I have mainly owned Proton's in the past with the quickest having a Lancer GSR Turbo engine in it.

I was looking for a new project and I was offered a 1998 plate VTR for circa scrap money.

The drive shaft was nackered, so it had to be towed half way home (with my trusty 172), had a quick look over it and found a hole (never looked over it properly when I picked it up as it was cheap enough to get my money back on and it was raining heavily).

Not being certain how bad it would be, I bought myself a 2003 plate VTR in red, this one seems solid and clean enough.

I need to get rid of the shell from my last project and then I can get the green VTR into the garage and weld up the sill (well, I need a new welder first) and anything else I can find. Then I will either be able to sell it on to a mate, or break it for parts (if I break it, i'll class the welding as practice with the new welder.
