Fair enough man.

Mine dont leak at all. I dont think theyve ever been off. The oil cap has a slight leak so il be buying a new one of those soon. Seems to leak more after long runs out.

Thats what gibbo thought it was in my first pic on the first page. All that oil was from the oil cap haha fml.

Looks tidy mate, good stuff. :D

Rarely see tidy ones here.. from what ive seen anyway.

Prickle 2nd October 2012 19:35

Update. Im going to get the "pointless waste" posts or why not lower it instead or maybe none at all :Dhowever some do have other views on them and felt a gain. Who knows Either way its going on. :homme: il give my view of it like so.

I got the mani in the post today *ahem* i need new studs/nuts first so im going to Citroen on Friday to order those.

Ive ordered a Valeo clutch aswell, stung a tad at £93 posted 5% discount ;-) but it needs doing, the bearing is slowy dying! out of the blue aswell, oh well.

I got it for a canny price, didnt pay anyway near £500 quid, i didnt even pay £400 quid. £354. Cheapest i could find from any site. ;) :drink:

Supersprint mani;

It weighs 5.2kg

Pic of the clutch.

Saved the order number just incase..
your order - number 2597953 has been received and will now be processed

My gear changes are sloppy as fuck (its not the gearbox btw). but when i was under the car a few weeks ago i checked the gear linkages and rod etc and they look nasty :D hehe. So all that will be getting ripped out and fresh can go in.

List of "refresher" parts and next mods inline *no set time for this as i have xmas stuff to sort* Its no boost set up what can i say but its a update..

Refresher parts;

2 below are roughly £100 from dealers [read from devilsadvocate thead] Il buy mine from the link below.

Gear Selection Link Bar

http://www.106parts.com/s2/page1.php...4=55&part=8756

Gear Selection Controller

http://www.106parts.com/s2/page1.php...4=55&part=8757

And Kamracing gear linkages

http://www.kamracing.co.uk/citroen/c...roen-saxo.html

And a ITG panel filter

http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/

Which no doubt il get for a good price, top guys.

Cheers..

logic_guy 2nd October 2012 19:48

I would had got some springs tbh.

I would try and upgrade the linkages first, its cheaper and could solve your problem.

yer as said on chat about lowering.

Il get the linkages and work my way back.

ive wanted the mani for AGES if im honest. So bought one. Lol.

Prickle 19th October 2012 20:38

So i fitted the mani. All went well taking the studs out, dance'd through that! i was expecting at least one snapping however none did! yay. I had to take the EGR off to even get the OE manifold off and it had to be off whilst fitting the S/S. The oil tube thing had to come out aswell. Getting the old mani out of the bay was a ball ache and it isnt exactly light, 10.9kg according to my ma's scales. Fitting the new one wasnt too bad, wasnt fun either. And lastly the cat join. most would think it would bolt up straight away. No i faffed on and faffed on and no futher. i moved the cat out the way and the 2 17mm bolts bolted in. I lined the cat back up. They didnt want to go in. And when i got them in i still had play. I could literally pull the cat back and forth and it exposed a gap. not sure if srs?? so tommorow i need to buy new bolts, nuts aswell and try again.

A job i'll never do again. That is all.

Couple of pics, not that many.

Off

Size

weight of OE in kg

New studs (full x10) in

All fitted

After literally a 6 mile total 30/40 mph run. It was smokey for like 2/3 mins? then went.

Cheers.

Gabbastard 19th October 2012 20:49

Nice. Shouldve heat wrapped it.

How much did the new studs beef you?

blackie_2k5 19th October 2012 20:49

looking good jonjo

get a pic of the prob with flange

dolby20 19th October 2012 20:52

That manifold looks gorgeous (coming from someone who bought a Piper 4-1 brand new ;))
And mega kudos for posting links to where you bought parts too!
Looking good :D

Chris_O 19th October 2012 20:53

On the supersprint mani isnt there a join at the bottom of it? Can't you make it slightly longer to stop the movement where the cat is?

Yeah there is. I faffed on i tried pushing it out, it didnt work. I tried it right up tight. Didnt work. I have no idea why it was trolling me like this..

blackie_2k5 19th October 2012 20:58

so you need to bolt it to the cat first..then adjust it to suit with the clamps on the dowpipe by the look of it

I tried that Andy  It just wouldnt hold tight or secure because the threads wernt long enough. I had big springs aswell.

Baz 19th October 2012 21:49

You need to cut the springs for the join from cat to mani

God knows lmao, don't forget I did this like 4/5 years ago....Maybe cut a quarter of them off? Best way to find out is to clamp then exhausts together with a pair of grips and mark on the spring where it needs cutting

Xplodee 19th October 2012 22:04

Manifold looks really good mate.

Jay_ 19th October 2012 23:30

Just decat it.

Ive got an idea Bazzle. Im going to trial my old springs and then cut them to size!

A pair of grips wont hold them tight im afraid, ha.

Hmm..

Use a solid bolt to clamp the 2 flanges together then cut the spring to fit. Then remove the bolt and fit the bolt with the spring in the other hole.

Also get rid of the air pump will never look clean with that in there.

I decided to run no springs. It doesnt vibrate or anything so thats that.

The bay does get hot and that bothers me. No sure how il go about keeping it cool though.

Main problem is the alternator sits rather close, the wire is 2mm? close to one pipe. Got a feeling it will end up melting it. Im going to make a little guard to keep that wire cool.

last pic because after purple is black lol..

Bedford126 20th October 2012 17:35

I run mine with no springs mate. But just be careful it puts more stress on the flange.
