i couldnt tell you if they make any difference from what a standard inlet would do as the bodies were on the car before i turbo'd it.

I didnt want to sell them, so thats the reason it has a turbo with the bodies still. i would imagine it makes a little difference but what i wouldnt know.

all i know is its making 200bhp and 180ish/lb/ft torque with 9psi which is very little boost, so it might be helping somewhere. i compare it againt something like a rs turbo whcich makes 133bhp @7psi so the car is doing something right!!.

thanks bud:y:

how are the solid mounts coping mate, yay or nay? Im thinking of making some myself as ive noticed a gap in the market and also how easy they'd be to make

TheGoldNurburg 17th February 2010 16:50

Man thats what you call a beast of a track car ;) Great ride :)

raunchz 17th February 2010 16:55

Those engine mounts are uber hardcore !!! You wouldn't use them on the road at all !!!

Engine looks superb !!!

Will be cool to hear how it performs on the trackday coming up !

robtwotone 18th February 2010 00:07

hi mate, to be fair the the mounts are pretty hardcore hard. At low revs and idle it rattles like a bitch, you can hear everything the engine is doing and gearbox rattles etc. but as a track car its not a prob as it smoothes out at high revs. on the up side with it being so solid it is so responsive and crisp to drive its just the rattling. all ads to the track effect i suppose.:y:.

They would sell but for the track community i reckon, as for making them i had solid inserts made them we welded them to the brackets so they sould be fixed to the chassis. cheers

that mini your on about bud was a quality little car, but what i couldnt get my head round was he was running 260bhp with wet tyres, i still managed to get by him with 150bhp and r888. his driving i reckon. he also let me by another time as he wanted to see where the saxo was so fast rounf=d the track and he said he couldnt keep up with the corner speeds we were hitting, i think he was a bit scard of binning it as it was worth 30k, i dont think he was impressed being overtake by a 3k saxo!!!:y:

cheers

blocks85 18th February 2010 10:12

I'd get some bigger injectors in there. The duty cycle on the 172's must be well over 90%.

Some Megane RS 225 injectors will fit straight in matey.

All good? A great improvement on before the tb conversion?
