Amazing sound system

liam_b 21st March 2009 13:48

yes steph i got the epic today putting in at the moment just need a 2nd p4 amp now then the boot is sorted

liam_b 21st March 2009 20:40

well got the epic in (well half in) got the controller for the epic mounted in, was going to mount it under the steering wheel but everyone does that and i didnt want the wire showing for it so i ended up mounting it between the ipod and voltage gauge so ive all controls for the stereo in one place.

the epic box its self is going to be mounted the oppisite side of the matrix with all wires hidden

Lippy 22nd March 2009 01:16

the epic centre is that just a line driver? or is it an attenuable RCA Resistor? Never really fitted one tbh!?
My Bass control is under the steering column, its a pretty standard place to mount it but its nice and easy to reach and the pigs dont see you reaching for a volume knob when your playing loud music! lol

Hpi_matrix 22nd March 2009 01:19

Wow, even looks loud lol

na it aint a line driver. They read the music signal and then if there seems to be a lack of bass the gizmo adds the bass an octave lower than what it`s reading from the original signal. Bass restoration.

so it will take a track like micheal Jackson Billie Jean witch has no bass and put in the bass notes that have been taking out to be played on every day house systems ect

i dont need to worry about the police around here got pulled over again the other day and thay asked me to turn it up again lol

StephanieLouise 22nd March 2009 13:29

Ohh how cool you have got it in then!
Looks good where you have mounted it :)
Like the pics does it sound better then?
Cant wait to hear it :D x

waites 22nd March 2009 13:38

liam_b 22nd March 2009 18:46

well been out working on the car all day got the old heater blower out i turnt it up side down and loads of black water came out of it (hmm thats why it set on fire lol):n: while i was taking that out i tought i would spray the panels under the windows satin black so now thay look brand new.

got the epicenter fully working today and its awsome micheal Jackson and james brown sound awsome on it might try get a video of it working

plans for this week are:
fit the epic to the side of the boot
put wiring in for 2nd genesis amp
fit 4th battery
fit some lighting
rise amps
make the box even stronger
and fix the some bass damage lol

luke_freeride 22nd March 2009 21:28

liam_b 22nd March 2009 23:21

thanks i bought them already white from ebay

StephanieLouise 24th March 2009 22:08

Sounds good, sounds like you have alot of work to do this week then.
Hows it going? x

liam_b 25th March 2009 01:15

yeah lots of work steph ive got the some of the install out to run the last of the wiring, while i had it out i measured it up to see if i could fit another big yellow in, they fit but a very tight squeeze.
Im going to have to get my car on a weighing bridge soon to see if my car is over its gross weight as the install it weighing quite abit now.

Lippy 25th March 2009 01:44

I think your prob already over the gross weight to be honest! Im surprised the car still moves.
Could upgrade the engine to a VTR to make it a bit more driveable and get the suspension from a VTR and poss better braking?
Does it stop very well? I was thinking about this the other day but with alot of weight and standard brakes your stopping distances should be majorly increased due to more forward momentum?

3 fork lift batteries, you nutter! Fair effort once again though!

Eskimo 25th March 2009 11:24

Lol, id love to go out for spin in that! :P Lmao might blow ma ear drums lol..

liam_b 29th March 2009 23:34

well went to a builders yard the other day to get a price for some birch ply and it was £60 for a 18mm 4x8 sheet so as im not paying that price im just going to

paint the inside of the box with pva glue to seal the mdf
put some more 2x3 angled timber on the back of the wall
pack even more loft installation around the box
and get new door seals

liam_b 30th March 2009 20:59

well got the car weighed today from 800kg standard its now 1220kg so the install weighs about 300kg as when the car was weighed me and my mate where in the car

StephanieLouise 2nd April 2009 22:06

Looking good, not much work left to do now right?
When u going to have the leds done for?

Lippy 2nd April 2009 23:40

looks much tidier in the back there now! good effort! enjoying wiring resistors yet? I did tell you it would be a pain in the arse! even more of a pain when 1 led goes and you have to pull the lot out just to replace 1 led! that drives me nuts!
