benJee_VTR 26th August 2009 21:10

thanks mate, bought them from joe at rimz inc, keep an eye out in the for sale thread, occasionally they crop up at a good price. They're so much more comfy than my old vtr/s seats :P

gj89 13th October 2009 21:12

nicely done mate, similar to the extent that I wish to change my MK1 VTR, but in a different sense. None the less, where the hell you get that ducting hose for your engine bay? Having a proper mission trying to find any, and if u sell those wheels gimme a shout, the exact ones i want =)

jaystar89 13th October 2009 23:32

You have first dibs when i sell the wheels, will probs be Dec/Jan after i refurb my vts ones.
Thanks for the comment :)

exellent thread mate you have done a great job on your vtr its very nice. and i am a fan of the 2 tone as well.

benJee_VTR 21st October 2009 22:08

Thanks mate, updates to come this week :D

VTS wheels now here, just gotta decide a colour. Mauritius vt kit here, refurb in progress, new rear calipers bought and few other bits on the way too.

boabVTR 21st October 2009 22:27

wasnt a fan of the 2 tone saxo but yours is minted. :y: luv the pressed plates btw

saxo-ginge 22nd October 2009 09:55

mate, that vtr is simpley amazing. LOVE IT

good work :D

benJee_VTR 22nd October 2009 13:37

Got my vts wheels sorted now, but im really stuck on what colour to do. I have Rover high power sparkle silver in first place so far (deep metallic/pearlescent silver), then also anthracite, mauritius blue, and subaru 555 rally blue in mind. Really dont know which to go for. :(

saxowest 22nd October 2009 19:46

lookin good sparkly black?

benJee_VTR 22nd October 2009 20:22

i've not fully decided yet. ive mixed myself a pearlescent silver with metallic flake aerosole, so will give that ago first :y:

benJee_VTR 22nd October 2009 20:44

The Days' Work

Managed to get 3 wheels sanded/flatted off and 2 of them half way primed. Im going for a pearl silver with metallic flakes, so used a white primer.

Started sanding down the imperfections

Used a little filler on the scrapes

Sanded down with 80 grit, then 400 grit then 1200 wet and dry.

Just managed 2 coats of primer tonight. Ran out of light :( Will update tomorrow :)

benJee_VTR 25th October 2009 17:37

right, i have managed to get 2 wheels coated with some top coat.

Couple of coats on the first:

About 4 coats so far, will add a few more tomorrow before i wet flat it and lacquer.

New Magnex bought too, to replace the peco. Also waiting for vts rear calipers and vts wheel nuts/lockers.

benJee_VTR 25th October 2009 17:39

Apologies for slightly blurry phone pics, will get some proper digi cam pics when i finish them :y:

Oh yeah, i know ive painted the tyres, but they're all pretty much shot and will be replaced when i finish refurbing the wheels.

benJee_VTR 25th October 2009 21:38

have requested a photoshop for the wheels in different colours. Anyone have any ideas? (Photoshop request with pics in the photoshop section)

ashwilson 25th October 2009 22:22

They look pretty sweet the colour are at the moment too be honest.

J222JRA 25th October 2009 22:24

mauritius blue and antharacite rims ftw imo

GRAHAM2000VTR 26th October 2009 07:36

looking good only thing i would of done is taken off the balance weight as wehn you need new tyre and they take them off you got all the work to do again

AndySAXO 26th October 2009 13:38

mate you should of took the weight of the outside of the alloys, and then got them balance with the wieght that go inside the alloys, would look soo much better,

andy

AndySAXO 26th October 2009 13:39

sorry didnt see the post above me, but yer should off done that,

it not much to balance alloys,

andy

Ben 26th October 2009 13:54

Was just gonna say the same as above. If you've gotta get 4 new tyres I'd of taken the weights off as they will need balancing up anyway. Who puts the weights on the outside of the rim these days anyway? Haha. Lookin sweet though dude, I miss my Saxo.
