I dont believe for a second you would of span if it wasnt for the conditions on the track though.

Best be dry next time so that i can properly test out the arb and tyres! Really need to get bushes done and brake lines as well lol.

And cheers for the thanks for the bed for the night, it was nothing haha

Na man, you know I appreicate the bed.. I thought the blowjob was good enough. Like I said, your more than welcome to stay at mine next week with danny and who ever else fancys it.

I found standard brakes with decent pads were fine for croft!, never got any break fade (on the track).. they were a bit crap on the way home though lol

I dunno man, even if it was dry, I made mistakes and because of that the car span.. should have taken into consideration the conditions a bit more before braking that hard. Even breaking hard in the dry the backend seamed rather unstable so i'll free the brake bias off and see what kind of effect that has :)

Hammered next week?

haha, I feel it looks better than morretes.. but it's there to aid the car as well. The induction kit runs directlly behind that, well it should but I forgot the extra silicone tubing that day. *chuckles*

Sure Cloud can Vouge for how quick the VTR was.

Was good fun, watched the VTR for three laps while trying to keep with it in the Civic hanging off the rear end of the VTS.

Photo somewhere of the VTR right behind it up the straight. lol

Edit:
Here it is just out the hairpin with Jai in his EP3 trying to keep up lol

Was funny watching you drift round sunny in cloud haha looked like the rear of your car was sliding all over into the corners but held well lol, the amount of smoke coming off teh passenger front wheel out the hair pin was un real lol

I'll happily say it's not slow buddy, I had to let off the throttle plenty of times going through the backend of the track though were you can pretty much go flat out. I was a bit gutted that when Richie finally let me past I noticed the god damn red flag.

I can only assume thats the guy in the civic is the only one who was on track, he seamed a nice enough lad. Waved at us when we seen him on the way back from the petrol station.

As for the sliding, it must be my driving style because people said the exact same thing about my green car lol not once that day did I feel the car was going to snap away from me apart from when I turned into a corner far to earlly (when sayer was taking pics ironically) lol

edit:

What kind of racing line do you take around the hairpin? just out of interest because I never really got away fast from there all day!

I can definitely vouch for how quick Richie's car is in the bends - I couldn't believe how much it was hanging on. Kinda puts it into perspective when you're carrying the same speed as a 205 into a corner and it spins out in front of you, haha. :)

Your car seemed to go really well Cloud, was definitely inching away on the straights!

Stripped 205? red one?

I was a bit dissapointed with the power on the straight to be honest man, if there is a next time I may have to put some lighter/smaller wheels on / strip the car and put my bucket seats in.

Looks amazing James, and reading the whole progress I'm beginning to prefer this black vtr to the green machine. It looks spot on so far and you're definetly the best thing for it, it really looks at home on track-even if you have span it out already.:clapping:

Keep it up:A:

James 21st October 2008 00:01

Thanks buddy, the green one is always going to have a big place in my heart though.. i've had it 4 years lol

Ferg 21st October 2008 00:19

I was the same when i went mate, could never get it right, in the end i was leaving it really late to turn then aiming just for the end of the curb and running out to the cone, but no matter what on my t1-r's they span up lol

I agree it looked like it was sliding but didnt look as though you were going to loose control. We could tell you were coming off the gas lol VTR runs out of steam on the straights, quick in the corners though isnt it lol

Cant wait for next year to get some more track days in :D

Just bought a mint set of VTS rims for my semi slicks :D

That's the one. I think it was sunny out he lost the back end and clipped the grass.

Ah I know what one you mean then, I overtook him pretty easy but the impression I got was a bit 'too easy' as in he was not really trying at the time or was just scouting the track lol

saxo_ron 21st October 2008 20:06

james from what I could see you had some good pace out on croft, t'was a top day to be sure.

the hairpin I was hugging the right of the track turning real late and powering round trying to avoid the muddy bit on the exit, speedo was saying roughly 50 when I was going round it.

James 21st October 2008 20:12

Tar buddy,

Aye on the hairpin I was leaving it late to turn but my tyres just span on exit.. maybe I was turning a bit fast/hard for the corner. Will try be a bit more gentle with it next time and see were that gets me lol

rushy_23 23rd October 2008 18:19

Noooice one man. Looks like a great track/great day!

Karl 23rd October 2008 18:43

it did on the straight, after he stupidly over took tom on the inside of the corner near the hair pin came around and and on to straight was left

James 24th October 2008 00:25

Dident see that like, heard about it though...

James 30th October 2008 17:59

Gay Bar..

Went to get into my car earlier and I might as well put my fucking speedo's on and gone for a swim.

Suspected leaking windscreen.. not amused.

Whole interior is going to have to come out and dried off.. somehow going to have to dry the sound deadning behind the dash etc.. really can't be arsed with shit like this.

Windscreen is going to need to come out and re-fitting etc as well

I always said when I bought this car, there is not a chance in hell i'd take the interior out.. now I don't have a choice :( let the rattles commence.

Luke 30th October 2008 22:26

Didn't this happen before when Alex had it? Seem to remember something....

Pretty shit though mate, hope you get it sorted soon.

Yates 30th October 2008 22:26

Na, thats another less severe leak buddy.. thats water coming through the light anyway not the sunroof.

craig180 31st October 2008 09:24

Get the ariel off and tiger sealed mate to sort out the leak through your light

As for the serious leak it could be your sunroof drains which lead down to the scuttle pannel through the A pillars. Will need to get them all out and de-gunked if that's the case

Shit stuff mate but maybe you'll be tempted to strip this one properly now ;)
