heater blower 1m of 0gauge 4x 0gauge terminals 2x 4gauge terminals 1x 3m rca lead 14x 360kohm resistors 2x 14 pin sockets 3m of 2x3" timber and 30 blue and red leds 1st job of the day was get the new heater blower in 7 months without heating sucked so now its the summer i thought i would get around to fixing it  getting the old one out was a pain in the ass lots of swearing and a big hammer was used lol putting the new in wasnt hard as i was expecting but i did manage to bruise my thumb up and got a huge bit of crap in my eye witch left me working with my eye close for about half an hour lol but manage to get it in and it its all working :y: 2nd job was making the pfm modules for the epicenter and the matrix i used 360kohm resistors to give me 20hz cutoff was a fiddly job but didnt take to long 3rd job fitted more leds to the template have used about 25 leds and its only around 20% so think its going to take about 150 leds to go alway around the subs 4th job was started making the 0gauge leads for the 4th battery my goodies ![]() pfm,s ![]() ![]() tomrrows jobs are paint inside of box with pva glue fit more 2x3" to the back of the wall fit the last rca lead paint the door build and pack even more loft insulation in |
left insulation? not inside the box? oh iirc your using that to fill the gaps around the outside of the box?
That stuff makes me itchy as hell! horrible shit! lol led's seem to be coming along! should look good when its done! |
Quote:
yh makes me itch like a bitch too leds are going to be hell ive got to staple every led in place then put a block of wood inbetween every led then wire it all up |
well todays been a stressfull day have had tooth ache and ear ache all day so that hasnt helped:( but got quite abit done
1st job was take all the subs, ports and crossovers out then take both front panels off once all that was off i started painting the inside with pva glue nerly a litres worth. 2nd job i braided the wiring for the 4th battery and wired it up 3rd job i sprayed the door pod. i was going to get it perfect for ists but i coudnt be arsd getting the filler out today as i felt like crap last jobs where put more 2x3 on the back of the wall and pack even more loft insulation down the sides got both of thos done then started putting it all back togther but it got dark so i called it day ![]() ![]() ![]() |
lol thats alot of glue! :fcuk:
How long did it take to dry? Hows all the work going? U nearly ready for ISTS? x |
so you've turned your 1.1 into a van?

only a small update with no pics got every thing back in today was a pain in the ass to get the ports back in but got there in the end all the subs back in and all wired up didnt manage to give the car a decent polish tho will get some scores and pics updates on money if any of you going ists come say hi |
I think you should put bracing through the middle of the box both horizontally and vertically that would stop the top bottom and sides from flexing and maybe copy the bracing on the back of the box on the front!???
Also have you considered putting some sort of sound dampening material on the insides of the box? either the foam thats shaped like egg boxes or acoustic wadding? Just a thought as my old auto acoustics stealth box had it in and it made a hell of a difference when I took it out to put in a new box, stopped alot of the resonance of panels and gave cleaner bass! oh another idea if the back and front of the box are exactly parralel to each other then the sound waves bounce straight back at the subs dunno how you'd change that now though, thats why most pre built boxes have a sloped back or sloped front. |
seen this today at donny show :D
wide the 2 bird sitting on it lol |
lol me to
|
will have to up date this tomorrow with pics and vids
got my 151dB but getting it retested next week as i had been playing all morning and the batterys where draind |

the sides are 2x 18mm mdf with 2x3 and m10 threaded bar then ive got the loft insulation packed very tightly down the sides. the top is 3x 18mm mdf then loft insulation packed very tightly again then the bottom is 2x 18mm mdf and bolted to the floor i doubt i have much flex on thos panels. problem with putting bracing from top to bottom and more side to side is i cant use threaded bar as theres no room to put them in and do them up and if i used 2x3 ect its going to raise the tuning only real plus side with sound dampening the inside of the box is sealing it better but ive just painted the inside with pva and thats sealed it and more stuff in the box would raise the tuning. doubt putting wadding in the box would last to long as it would get shot out the ports lol not to sure about the slope thing on prefabed boxes i always thought that was just so that sit against the rear seats better i no the rear of my box will be helping the subs control better as thay load of the back off the box |
well heres some pics/vids from the weekend these are just a cuple of pics and vids as im still waiting for some people to upload some stuff thay have. been plenty of hair, can, paper and water tricks plus a cuple of show girls having fun with the 33hz lol

well on the weekend i replaced one of my subs as it was making a annoying tapping noise and as i didnt have much room in my car i thought i would give some entertainment for the the sss stand so we wired the poor gt5 to just over a 1000rms(the sub is rated 275rms) after about 2 minits of free air 10hz the sub went up in a big spark and a cloud of smoke. very impressed on how long it lasted
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() hopfully have the video of it going up later |
haha thats really strange I was only thinking earlier on how long it would be before one of them went pop or went wrong... scary!
Where did you get your power cable from bud? and how much was it? Im gonna be pushing 2000w RMS with the new amp's and thought rewally I should get some bigger gauge stuff but its all so expensive online! |
it didnt relly go wrong wrong just wasnt 100% right so thought for £20 i would replace it
i got my power cable from cad thay dont sell it any more i paid £45 but there are some on talk audio at the moment going for £35 il find you the link |
