Just seen it now. Car look to be going well. You can tell your comfortable with the track now too. Awesome.

Ah, and enjoy your b'day dude.

jpsaxo 8th November 2009 13:26

Thanks guys, theres still more to come off the lap time as i've only done 30 laps so far, according to the 'experts' you need to have done around 50 laps to know the track reasonably well, and over 100laps to know the track well!

andymiller_VTR 8th November 2009 13:50

By far the best saxo ive ever seen :P

The lap of the ring looks minted aswell :)

Ashleyp 8th November 2009 13:53

The suzuka seats are excellent mate, very supportive & comfy, had no problems driving all the way back from the ring with only a couple of 10min petrol / food stops! Its not too bad getting in an out, it would piss me off doing it everyday, but im getting old now lol!

Ash you've already asked me that at the end of the last page ;)

SO....

Moving onto 2010

Well...what do i do?

I need:

- Cage (prob go full custom cages weld in & get them to fit it)
- Seat bars welded in
- Sound deadening all removed from interior
- Interior spraying
- Mintex 1144 pads & new disks for the rear
- Replace one of my R888's
- 5 x Black centre caps for the pro race 1.2's
- Passenger 5th point suicide strap for the harnesses

Ive collected a few bits and bobs so far....

Alu Cobra sidemounts

Also got a steering wheel cover from TRS/Colin, thanks bud!

And my gearbox is coming apart to have the quaife fitted to a 1.4xsi FD....

Still gotta fit my single fan system as well

Progress will be slow as usual as im over in Sydney still, but once im back home permanently (which should be some time towards the end of this year) expect things to speed up!

Once all the above is done i will start concentrating on a new NA j4 engine build which ive already started collecting parts for ;)

And a couple of pictures i bought from the ring 2009 trip to remind myself + everyone else what the car looks like Lol

raunchz 23rd January 2010 07:00

Can't wait to see a nice cage go in !!

Looks awesome on the track, the new engine build sounds interesting!!

Toad 23rd January 2010 08:07

Gut gut!

Tell me more about the cage dude... ?

You will love the gearbox. :y:

So the car is all stripped out now eh? The way forward! :D

Good progress mate. I wish I could progress on mine, but the coffers have run dry. :(

And me mate, im going to try and get the cage done before the ring trip, although i doubt it will be done tbh as

1) I have a fair bit of traveling around Oz left to do which is going to take up a large chunk of funds
2) Doubt Sam/Dad will have the time this year but we will see....

Toad - you know how the car was in Germany? thats exactly how it is now.... I dunno about progress.... the car hasnt moved or changed since the end of august lol, Ive just collected a few bits and bobs here and there!

Over the weekend I ticked off another part from the list...

Slightly worn rear disks & rear Mintex 1144 pads

Toad 26th January 2010 09:11

Ah, OK.

Was curious about the cage choice. :)

JonB 26th January 2010 14:06

jpsaxo 15th February 2010 11:45

Quick update: Dad started it on Sat for the first time in a couple of months and it still works, started first time :D

Thats all, i've starting putting some extra plans together (a few of the lads know) but nothing will be happening for a couple of months yet!

stuff 15th February 2010 11:50

Where abouts did you get your carbon mirror caps form mate?

Toad 15th February 2010 12:43

Get the old codger to take it out for a spin a couple of times a month.

I'm sure he won't mind! ;)

stinkycheese 21st March 2010 22:31

Scan read a fair bit of this thread. I love it!

Would you ever consider selling it?

well its insured & MOT'd mate, just not taxed lol

Not even considering selling stinky, I still have lots and lots of things planned for this car yet! Few big changes coming up over the next few months to get it ready for the ring trip again.

And then more changes over next winter once im back in the UK and can actualy work on the car on a day to day basis instead of relying on dad/sam to fit in work when they can.
