Hi mate, Its a badass inlet mani cover but has been painted in citroen black

piebobs71 14th December 2010 21:29

what paint are people using for the cam covers? or are you all getting them powdercoated?

Chr15 14th December 2010 21:30

I used Hammerite but the quality isnt that brilliant tbh. Saying that, it was a half arsed DIY job

piebobs71 15th December 2010 09:45

does it have to be high temp stuff? the plastic bit between the cam covers does that get hot to?

Chr15 15th December 2010 11:12

I just used normal paint. I did it black so didnt need to do the plastic parts.

Hi mate, if you are talking about the actual cam covers them selves then you can use normal spray paint but give it plenty of layers of colour and clear coat or it wont last due to the heat. The plastic coil cover can also be done the same way. It isnt that expensive to get them done proffessionaly though around £20 -£30 per coverand will look much better, trust me!

cool cheers, its more to do with getting a quite good match for rim tape colour to keep the theme going I've been in touch with paints4u to see about getting a match to the vinyl so if normal paint will do I'll go that route i think, I've purchased a smoothed plastic bit from the for sale section on here, and I'm gonna do something to the e-tech brace to carry on the theme.
