well I wouldn't want to drive a car with the tyres like that, it's plainly dangerous I feel.

Loving the progress though mate banded steelies on a sax that not following the crowd :panic: Wicked car.

Thank you!, thats exactly it!, Im not gunna be flying round a track every weekend! .. So surely the tyres isnt my main priority atm, . But thanks for the positive comment dude.

that isnt stance,
the euro boys wouldnt be proud of that lol

i got pulled over the other day for having lights out, he checked my tyres and mine are almost touching and not sticking out really at all and he mentioned that some police officers might find that a bit dodgy, youd have got f***ed lol

Sorry to say it but that looks abit ott. I've done 15" banded steels well over a year ago, after talking to people who said 15's for a daily. In the end without a decent stretch u just cant get the car low enough to pull of a good look, hence why if u look at most the good examples of cleaned/euro saxo's there on 14's or smaller.
Front look spot on stance wise, but the rear looks terrible sits far to high n wide. I tried 195/45's on my 8's and tbh the looked the best (stretch wise), But would only allow me to lower the rear about 70mm or so. I've ran 165/50's which is a big stretch on the fronts and 185's which i find a nice stretch & stance but again wouldn't allow me to lower the rear more than around 85mm. But i think for the best i'd go for 175's on a 8 and 185's on a 9!
If ur set on keeping 195's on the rear go get some toyo's give alot better stretch.
But if im honest i reckon u'll get ALOT of stick of the police for them. The sad fact of the matter is ur driving a car which is considered to be a "boy racers" car, which is often modified etc and so gets alot of unwanted attention as it is. Just so you know aswell they ARE illegal. Alot of people say that as long as the tyre is within the arch etc then they are legal. Which is true to a certain extent but what u've got to remeber is the police can do you for what the consider a unsafe/un-roadworthy car. Them wheels look to stick out to far and the police will do u for been a danger to pedestrains, Also if u arches scrub bthe tyres at all and the police are been abit of a dick they'll do u for having unroadworthy tyres.

And thank you aswell, Lots of info there that i shall take in & consider, Regarding the police.. The car isnt on the road until later this year, Where the tyres may have changed etc, But as im sure you may already know this is my 3rd set of banded steels, and havent had any issues with police at all, So will see how it goes when its back on road, Thanks again tho!

''Some police officers'.. What width are your wheels again?,. And Yeah yours may be low!.. and touching tyres.. but i didnt want that look, I'll see the response it gets at the shows next year!

Yeah I may be plainly dangerous looking to you cos you got a serious track machine, he aint going spanking around tracks and mulling into corners. It a slow moving "look at me" car.

The euro boys wouldn't be proud of the stance on your sax either in that case, you say the stance on andys is crap when you have said yourself you are "not touching or sticking out really". My sax has VTR wheels which scrubb the arches but the stance is wank.

Every euro VW or audi you see is small wheels sticking out the arches with a massive stretch on.
Euro = 95% stance and wheels

He got the three main factors for euro, low, wide and small amounts of camber. It will depend on the descression of the officers, I been pulled driving home with a full load and arches more or less rubbing and nothing was said about it.

But you can't predict what other road users will do on the roads, you may need to swerve, slam the brakes on, hit pot holes etc. regardless of how you drive.

I'm only trying to give my opinion so the op understands the risk I think he's running by having that amount of stretch.

It's his car so he can do what he wants.

nicole_ 30th June 2010 19:01

i never said i had stance
my cars not euro... :clapping:
stance is like perfected by mm's to get the arch and wheel perfect, its not a case of sticking WIDE wheels and strecthed tyres and voila you have stance
im sure chris and blackvtrt will tell you how many calculations went into theres :y:

I can appreciate where your coming from, Entirely!, I know your saying its the roads and other road users etc, Yeah the stretch prob isnt best on a daily! But would you run normal fat tyres on those kinda wheels. it just wouldnt work, thats one of the main reasons im using stretch just to get the wheels to fit in the first place.

raunchz 30th June 2010 19:09

Yeh no worries - just trying to offer some advice, wouldn't like to see it written off/broken :)

For what it's worth, I like the look of the wheels, just think the stretch is a bit too hardcore.

benkelsall 30th June 2010 19:48

Put the vts wheels back on, would be a nice car then.

Like every other saxo, nahh..

Beaniemoo 30th June 2010 21:21

Not sure about the amount of poke, mine catch the archs slightly and I have much less poke than yours on my 9's, but I'll reserve judgement till I see it in the flesh! lol
The stretch is the same as my rears were and I had no problems with mine, am now going more on the front, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Keep up the good work! Whats the plan for the interior? Or is that top secret?

Barton1806 2nd July 2010 12:36

Yeah I agree with Beenie, can we know the plans for the interior or they top secret? Should look amazing when done.

Also beenie I love you sax aswell, looking at both these just makes me wana go out, get some coilys and a set of splits for my sax :y: Euro is the way forward.

Tom

CHIP 2nd July 2010 17:59

I'm by no means trying to gang up on you with the others. But i do think it's dangerous. There's a lass from our area and she's had 2 or 3 blowout's now and her tyre's are nowhere near the stretch of yours.
Plus imo it looks a little silly. I like a bit of stretch and wide wheels, but it just looks daft imo.
Danny Jay had 9s i think on his Sax and it looked stupid from the back and this is the same.

Fair play for trying to go a bit wild and that but it's just not for me.

Dude, don't take this to heart... but you're making a controversial car being as it's got such wide wheels etc. People are bound not to like it but that's the point isn't it? Daring to be different.

Do as you like with your car, it's your car. But got to accept the fact some folks won't like it. I mean you're fitting very daring wheels tbf lol.

Andyc123 2nd July 2010 22:41

I know what you mean mate!, i ent taking it to heart, but some comments arent needed?..

I mean if you dont think the stretch or wheel are right thats cool, Just no need to call it shit!, Doesnt help me or anyone else, Do you know what i mean mate?.. Of course id like to make the car different, Same as most people on here, Thats all.

I understand lol. Tbf it's not my cup of tea, but then Wolfrace wheels aren't a lot of folks cup of tea on here either. Nor are showcage's etc. But it's my car lol.

Krys_23 3rd July 2010 00:23

The wheels look awesome mate, I'm sick to death of seeing the same old shit everyday now, loving what you've done with the clear headlights also.

jack123 3rd July 2010 01:21

the wheels good look mint and its different which to me its good looking forward to seeing the rest
jack

geordie_alex 3rd July 2010 10:46

Well, the angle you took the picture at does you no favors try raising the camera a bit and the car will look lower and give a better indication of how the wheels and arches sit...and then people can pass judgement.lol

Andyc123 3rd July 2010 17:08

Thanks for all the comments guys!

The interior has nearly been finished, been on it 3 days solid,

Everything is in bar the dash and doorcards, That will go in next weekend, in the meantime the install shal be trimmed too!.. few custom bits will be added, pictures soon as they upload later!

Thanks, Andy

Andyc123 3rd July 2010 19:34

Right,

You may or may not guess where alot of the new interior has come from!..

But i now own it!, Witout the seats tho!, As iv got something else planned for them,

But i have got half of it fitted now, Whilst im building the install up,

Rest shall be ready for pick up next weekend, So in the meantime, heres some teaser pics!!

Answers on a postcode of where the interior is from! ? :P

Also for anyone who doesnt like the car from the back, Heres another quick shot!,

Andy

CHIP 3rd July 2010 23:07

Chandler/Robbie/Dale... The brown one anyway ;) lol.

Andyc123 3rd July 2010 23:12

Dales one yeah! Lol, winner!!

raunchz 3rd July 2010 23:18

interior looks awesome !!!

Should be stunning when it's all fitted !

jack123 3rd July 2010 23:29

is dale strippin it den??

Lukas1 4th July 2010 00:23

Love the wheels as a look, but would have gone a little smaller, prob 14" to get a better 'tuck' but otherwise a really nice car mate :)

Jay_ 4th July 2010 00:27

i like banded steelies....but they poke a bit toooooooooooo much for me....but still like it!

Andyc123 4th July 2010 10:42

Cheers for the comments everyone,

The wheels will be changing colour in a couple of weeks,

I also found out from the previous owner of them, they are actually 15x9.5 at the back, with 15x8.5 at the front!, So that would explain the poke!

Also dale had sold all the bits now, already started to rebuild his car again,

Iv had the interior and the FK coils from him.

Andy

Davo106 4th July 2010 10:56

Quality interior you got there... Was looking at it myself but the saxo isnt staying long so thought against it.
Dales rebuild is going to be actualllly mental.

Cheers mate! . . Yeah i had to snap it up when he asked me about it,
Lol, Fairly epic have to agreee! Shame your getting rid of yours tho!

AlexB 4th July 2010 11:23

I'm sorry but your going to ruin an awesome I terior putting it in a shit car

red and tan is a horrific combo IMO then white wheels don't match in either
aswell as the odd black spoiler and mirrors and gold stickers on the windows

I'm all up for being different
but pick a direction to take the car
IMO banded steels are part of the rat scene and should stay there that intrior is very much in the lux part of the euro/cleaned/ect scene and your car doesn't fit either

just starting to look like your trying to hard to fit in everywere like

as for stance as said by blackvtrt it's illegal
lee had 9s for his saxo and the poke was 40mm that looks similar and if a copper takes a dislike the arguement of the treads not showing isn't going to help as there's one stating 30mm as a maximum so even playing loopholes in the law your about 10mm past it
plus how you've sat that I can pretty much guarantee the rear arches are going to get pushed off the first time you find a bump in anything over 10mph

IMO a saxo shouldn't have more than 8s all round maybe 7.5 up front due to track width differences front and back but 9s IMO is too far

Then again in the late 90s 18s were classed as too far so people fitted 20s
it's a case of it's your car and your going to build how you want
but if your outside the box then be prepaired to get comments about it all

I'm expecting some shit when people see what I've in store for one of my cars it's what goes hand in hand with being different

still though really don't like the way you've gone with this
it needs more of a theme and carry it through the car not different colours everywere

so in other wards he should match the colours up but only have 2 colour not like 4 yea??

Andyc123 4th July 2010 12:21

With all due respect, Yeah i expected a mixture of comments, if didnt want peoples opinions and comments i wouldnt keep updating the thread would i?

If you read further down, iv said the wheels will be going a different colour for one,

The black spoiler is temp until i can find a wicked red one, as for the tints/stickers they will be removed in due time, So dont assume the car is staying like this forever, if you still hate it when its finished, by all means say what ever you like about it, I know its your opinion and i respect that. Thanks.

LSOfreak 4th July 2010 12:42

i love the banded steelies. Mental wideness on them. wouldn't do it myself personally becuase of the po po but i love the way they look. i'd keep the white tbh but maybe do something like the checker squares or some sort of pattern around the dish?
