Fuck me I thought I'd read the start of your title "My Euro inspired Trooper" then the end of someone elses "Returning to standard. Swapping and selling parts". Thats a real shame you're doing this.

What would you want for it the way it is and if returned to as near standard as possible, weigh out the differences and see what youre gonna make off the parts, might be easier and save time to just adjust the price of it modified to sell.

no saxo will sell for more than £2.5k in any condition.

I've done the math based on minimum prices I will accept for parts I will make more than the above figure just with selling mods and swapping panels. I then have a recently serviced 03 plate vtr with tax and test and only 63k on the clocks to sell. so I will make more back doing it this way than selling a modded sax as a while unit

why dont you buy a diesel shed of a 106 for £500 and use that to drive long distances, then have the saxo as your car for fun/weekends/shows etc.

then 106d's are bulletproof lol

because the saxos not fun anymore. I'm severely bored of it and tired of worrying about damaging it. I want something I can actually drive.

LSOfreak 27th June 2012 13:38

fair point..

I've got a issue with insurance. I'm paying 2.3k for the vtr at the moment without mods declared.

trouble is I've got 3 points and a claim against me.

insurance is up for renewal in July and it will be my first year on my own insurance. I'm thinking if I get a mk6.5 fiesta zetec s. it's roughly the same speed. roughly the same insurance. more reliable and more comfortable.

I'll keep that till my points get removed, then go for something a bit more exiting.

thanks mate, the car no longer looks like this. it's nearly standard now. I'm gonna miss it but there's a stormtrooper mk2 on the horizon
