Anybody done mk2 lights with gloss black paint or are they all matt?

I did the same idea with my rear lights, looks decent, gonna spray front headlights and dogs next Im having trouble getting the headlights out. I own a saxo 1.4 furio, not really into doing up my car just want to make it my own and look half decent, I'm also new to this site so sorry for any stupid questions etc

So do i pre heat the oven ? dont want to over cook them.

Primer and laquer isnt needed.. But good walk through, next patch of nice weather and i'll do mine..

not sure if srs or if you paint like a retard?

primer is deffo needed. lacquer is only needed dependent on what finish you are after

Is this easy to do with angel lights ?

doing this tomorrow as got a spare set of lights just hope oven dont kill them as they aint really spare just got two cars ;) gonna look sweeeeet on my fully blacked off and dropped saxsloth puppy :D

I can confirm an oven is better to split the light than a halogen heater!!

Tbh I pre-heated my oven for 5 min at 140 C and then I kept each headlight in for 2 mins, it was enough to remove the glass. I'll post some picks of the end result tomorrow.

for those asking you can do the same with mk1 lights!


it's exactly the same with mk2 lights! i personally used heat gun to open them unfortunatelly i don't have pictures of the progress! go for it it's an easy mod to do!
